There are a few that come to the matrix owners meets from the 9th gen corolla forums...

As for their performance, it's about the same...

The one thing to mention about these cars is, when the matrix XRS first came out, the engine's high cam changeover was at 6200rpm in 03, 6500rpm in 04, and 6700rpm in 05-06. Since the corolla XRS didn't come out till last year, it too only benefits from the 20-30hp jump hitting lift at 6700rpm as well.

It's a same cause honda has managed to have cam changeover at 5600 (in the b16) and the power curve is stright and steady rise to redline....the 2zz-ge (XRS motor) has a more flat power curve then jumps 30+ at lift engagement and goes to redline.....and with lift only engaging at 6700rpm with an 8200rpm redling....doesn't leave alot of usefullness for all that power...

None-the-less, They are very good cars, and great comptition for us DOHC VTEC pushers

i've heard the lift point, sounds so nice. Have you seen Mista Matrix's car?

What are your mods compared to his? I can't figure out which car was squeeling off the line.. was that you? Also, i noticed the other guy's running 17s on the drag strip, you're on 15s... you must be so much quicker off the line i assume?

I have seen mistamatrix's car, he's the moderator for the toronto section of the matrixowners forums...

In the vid, it's my tires squeeling, mostly. I was running on 14" crx rims... and he is on 17's (that black trix in the vid is "Nolat" on matrixowners.com)

Nolat had a 6 puck ceramic performance clutch with light weight flywheel and injen cai and magna-flow cat-back. I have a sr intake and tanabe axle back...

No matter what mods any of the trix's had that day, they just couldn't bring down the b16

How do you know mistamatrix?

I don't have a matrix, in fact, I've never owned a toyota in my life.

The black XRS in the vid at the begining of this thread I posted is owned by a friend of mine by the name "Nolat" on matrixowners.com.

I started going to matrix owners meets with him and when I went to buy a new car I was looking at the XRS but they were all too much money, then it was love at first sight with my blue 2000 SiR

I have just kept going to matrix meets, and I know most of the members, they're all cool and don't seem to care what car I drive.

Thats how I'm part of matrixowners.com......

But I am part-owner of an 87 toyota MR2 supercharged, which a couple friends of mine (Nolat included) are racing in autocross. It's a work in progress....we just installed a full-kevlar unsprung race clutch....
