Performance chips, legal?

Hi im new to the forum but ive checked it ouy multiple times for questions ive had but now my question is this.. i have a '07 civic lx and i wanna put a low end performance chip in it but im not sure of its legal in ontario, even with the chip my car would only still be around the same HP as the SI so i was thinling itd be fine but then again it is a performance chip. Please any info

There are supercharger kits that sell for around 3-4 grand and make your R18 have about the same HP as an Si's K20. You think a legit company can survive selling a kit for close to $4000 and you still need to install and tune, so basically "chip" the ecu after anyway?

Regardless of legality, no chip is gonna actually add the ~60hp difference to your car.

Yeah i dont wanna drop that kinda money into right now but i wanted a little more performance. Im hoping to learn enough and save enough to swap/rebuild the engine in a year

I'm not saying drop 4 grand on your car, I'm saying the chip is a waste of money and won't actually do anything to your car other than maybe make it less fuel efficient.
