I know of boosted civics which ran with no oil for a week, and they were fine until the owner tracked it.

i think they did it on purpose if after giving you the car back and he looked underneath the car and look back at you.....but who knows

you should def complaint about it, weather it goes anywhere from there or not, at least you will have complaint against them, who knows there might be many more who has in the past.

By doing that, the mechanic just assumed all responsibility for the mistake, therefore if there are any further problems that happen with your engine, have him/Walmart pay for it all.

Good luck.

Another Wal-Mart Nightmare I have is on a Friday evening at 8pm my dad had a tire blown out and just happened to be close to a wal-mart. So we out the spare on and drove over to get 2 tires. The kid there installed them and was doing ok until he had to back the car out. to this day i have no clue what the kid was think but somehow backed up into the wall. And the middle, not the corner but the middle of the bumper and trunk of my dads malibu was smashed. Finally after 8 months of arguing wal-mart settled with us for $3500 dollars. With was what the dealer body shop estimate was. But we just ended up getting a new bumper and shock absorber as well as a trunk from the wreckers got it painted and I installed it for him. Point of the story is after all u have to go through get as much as you can from them.

This is why I do ANY and ALL work/maintenance to my own car, and always will.

If it's something I've never done before, I research and learn how to do it and make sure I have a couple friends there to help out.

Never had an issue yet because I know exactly what has been done to my car because I'm the one that did the work.

Aside from that, I feel for ya. But you're probably not gonna get much back out of this. All they are gonna do is give your money back and maybe give you some gift cards or something like that.

Hope there is no permanent damage to your car.

U better make a scatter shield for that oil filter. Its worse than a flywheel when it explodes.

An adjuster is going to come look at the vehicle tomorrow,
They want to bring it to the garage of my choice,
I'm thinking of bringing it to Honda on Danforth..
Any suggestions?
I don't know if there is ANY damage to the engine at all.. but it did run hot for awhile.

I would love to squeeze a new motor from wal-mart as they'd pay anything.
Anyone able to help?

Well today when I took a drive to square one in Mississauga with my girlfriend(I was driving from scarborough) and car drove fine.. didn't notice anything.. and when we were heading back I noticed the oil light flash quickly and it started flashing more and more and I was concerned..and the oil temp gage was high
By the time I made it home I checked the oil and to my surprise there was NO OIL IN MY ****ING ENGINE! And I checked at home and there was a huge strip of oil from where my car was to the end of the street.. So I was driving all day with basically no oil in my engine..
My car could of blown on the highway and I could of easily got into an accident and my girlfriend and I would of got killed.

I went back to Wal-mart with my civic.. (I put 3L of oil in it)..
I talked straight with the mechanic(there was no automotive mechanic manager avail) and hes like "Oh hey I noticed there was oil leaking out of your civic yesterday."
Hes like "oh i'm going to take it in and check it out."
I was pissed at this point, I went under the car and the oil filter was ****ing loose as ****.
I took pictures of under the car and all the huge oil mess under my car and on my street.

He wrote on the paper that its his fault and he didn't tighten the oil filter properly.
My dad whos use to be a mechanic came by to check it out and he called the mechanic a ****ing idiot.

What should I do about this?
Ima call corp office and go see the automotive manager at walmart on monday.
Any advice would be great,
I could of killed myself on the highway or blown my engine..

heres a gallery of everything:
Yfrog Gallery
....AND thats y we never go to walmart or **** tire for automotive maintenance.

**** dude, i seriously feel for you.

Its for crap like this that I do almost everything on my car. I won't let anyone else touch it without me at least being there.

I always look under my car to check for leaks every time I leave a parking spot... I occasionally check to make sure lug nuts are on tight too!

Anyways, good luck with this. I hope everything gets figured out. I'd say your chances seem good since the mechanic admitted to his mistake in writing.

you need to go to a shop that you can make a deal with, or go talk to a honda representative. thats what my buddy did when he got a mk4 jetta from a dealer. since the car was warrantied and his transmission bolt was loose or sometihng. he leaked out all the oil and called the dealership he got the car from. [it was a small dealership not an actual legit one] they ofcourse didnt want to pay but when he threatened to call mto [since it was only 1week after he bought the car] they said ok they will pay. my buddy went to vw and even though everything was ok, the rep. signed the paper saying that it needs new clutch/flywheel/transmission. and all that was quoted by vw prices. ofcourse that isnt all that cheap...the dealership where he got the car, paid the price that vw said, he got a used transmission from vw, installed and had around 800-1000$ left over.
try to pull something like that. if you go to a smaller shop offer them a cut and that you will get the motor swap done at their place. just make sure that the shop quotes more than what you actually gonna pay.
GL bud.

Great Idea, You know of any shops?
I don't want to feel like an idiot and ask for such a thing at the big honda at danforth.
Should I try to find a smaller Honda shop.. or should I go to my regular mechanic.. Defcon racing.. :P

if you know any shops...like owner/manager personally it would help greatly.
i can possibly ask my bud.
also if you do talk to somebody, ask them to diagnose it for blown rings or something.

Thanks Martin, problem is I only have 1 day to play with and find a shop, I don't know what liability a shop is taking if they say a engine is blown.

I hope Wal-Mart doesn't think I'm paying any bills first of all, they better front the costs before anything those ***********, I'm sure there is some kind of damage done to the motor I was driving with less than 0.5litre of oil for 30+ km and the light didn't even come on it just flashed 2wice I thought it was a mistake.

If you could hook me up somehow bud that'd be nice, I'd hook you up.
