Oil change at wal-mart

Okay, Yesterday I got a oil change at walmart, I got this 15 point inspection and penzoil deal.
Anyways I gave the associate my keys and some black guy name Phillis did my oil change.
ANyways when it was done and he passed me back the car he said everything was fine and the car runs perfect.. when I started to leave I saw him look at the ground for a bit and back at me then he turned around and went back in the garage.
Well today when I took a drive to square one in Mississauga with my girlfriend(I was driving from scarborough) and car drove fine.. didn't notice anything.. and when we were heading back I noticed the oil light flash quickly and it started flashing more and more and I was concerned..and the oil temp gage was high
By the time I made it home I checked the oil and to my surprise there was NO OIL IN MY ****ING ENGINE! And I checked at home and there was a huge strip of oil from where my car was to the end of the street.. So I was driving all day with basically no oil in my engine..
My car could of blown on the highway and I could of easily got into an accident and my girlfriend and I would of got killed.

I went back to Wal-mart with my civic.. (I put 3L of oil in it)..
I talked straight with the mechanic(there was no automotive mechanic manager avail) and hes like "Oh hey I noticed there was oil leaking out of your civic yesterday."
Hes like "oh i'm going to take it in and check it out."
I was pissed at this point, I went under the car and the oil filter was ****ing loose as ****.
I took pictures of under the car and all the huge oil mess under my car and on my street.

He wrote on the paper that its his fault and he didn't tighten the oil filter properly.
My dad whos use to be a mechanic came by to check it out and he called the mechanic a ****ing idiot.

What should I do about this?
Ima call corp office and go see the automotive manager at walmart on monday.
Any advice would be great,
I could of killed myself on the highway or blown my engine..

heres a gallery of everything:

Ouch! LOL Walmart. How much did they charge you for that cluster ****?

It looks like there is oil all over the exhaust, you couldnt smell it burning?

Loosing a small amount of oil wont hurt the engine, but several liters probably would. I would talk to the manager and demand that the car was thoroughly inspected at a cost to them and not by one of their mechanics. Take it to a Honda dealer or a very reputable shop and demand that Walmart pays for the inspection.

This one is semi-legitimate. It could happen to anyone. It happened to me once before, but I noticed the burning oil smell about 10 minutes later.

Thanks Dumbassi, I will most certainly do that.
I smelt a little oil burning and my engine was running a bit hot but I wasn't really alarmed.. I had the A/C on and had the air flow come from inside.
I didn't have a ****ing clue that my car was running dangerously low in oil.

Im wondering that if the car has a safe mode that the car would go into if there was low oil pressure or just no oil.

It was running perfectly besides the light that flashed a few times. I only noticed when I got home what a ****ing mess my car and road was.
There was no odd sounds or any other signs.

Could of burned my piston rings or ****ed something else up.
I doubt the car is in the same condition as it was before wal-marts mishap.
Thing is.. they did a full 15 point inspection and everything passed perfectly.
I take really good of my civic.. change the oil every 5,000km.. don't drive it too fast.
I hope they do something for me.. **** I'd hate it to become useless after a month or so.
It only has 170,000km and its a 99. **** I hate wal-mart ima do all my oil changes from now.

Its going to be on the Security Camera that he checked the ground at the oil from my car and didn't do anything about it.

I would think a compression and leak down test would show any excessive wear or damage. PM zeeman or chris_v2. They have a shop in Mississauga and they might be able to check any issues.

I tried calling Corp office in the U.S.A.. They told me to call Wal-Mart Canada which is gay because Wal-Mart is American..
Anyways I gotta wait till Monday to address my issue.

Hate to sound like a dick but you get what you pay for.. why the hell would you go to Walmart for an oil change? And to top it off.. your oil light flashes and you just keep on driving home without a second thought?

You may get lucky and they do something at that particular Walmart but if it escalates you have no hope. It's Walmart afterall.

i hate to sound like more of a dick but reading his threads...i would assume that hed be broke so walmart must have looked quite appealing and if he pulled over on the highway he probably didnt have the money to pay for CAA

i remember one time i needed a boost and had no jumper cables or money or caa membership lol i had to wait like 3 hours for my dad to give me a boost

I want you to be aware of this situation,

On July 17th/2009 I bought a 15 point inspection and a Pennzoil oil change for my 99 Honda Civic Si.
I always took very good care of the car and its only at 170,000km and in great condition for its age, I spent a lot of money and time on it.
I'd change the oil myself but the civic does fit on any ramps at home.
Anyways, it took about 30-45 minutes to get the oil change done and when it was done I was greeted by a Mechanic named Philip.
He assured me that when he did the 15 point inspection that everything was perfect with my car and it runs fine.
I was with my girlfriend at the time if I may add so she is my witness.
He took out the car out of the Garage in Wal-Mart and he got out and I said 'Thanks, have a nice day' and he said 'same with you'.
When I was driving away my girlfriend said that Philip was looking at the ground and when I looked he looked at me and went back in the garage so I wasn't alarmed.
I then drove back home and didn't notice the serious problem.

Louanne(my girlfriend) and I the next day drove to Square One on the other side of Toronto. Its about 30 KM there. We smelled a bit of oil burning but didn't think much of it as we had dirty old cars on the road next to ours.
When I proceeded back home On July 18th/2009 when I was getting close to home which isn't far to wal-mart I noticed the oil light coming on and I pulled over to check the oil!
There was NO OIL in my engine for so many Kilometers! This has already done irreversible damage to my Honda civic.
Wal-mart was close by so I went there and saw Philip, I asked him.. "What's wrong with my oil on my car".
He said "I saw some oil dripping from your car yesterday when you left but didn't think much of it."
PHILIP KNEW that he screwed up on the oil change and asked to bring the car right away in the Garage.
He then noticed and took fault that he didn't tighten the Oil Filter Properly when he did a oil change which made a big mess of oil all under my car.
He wrote on the receipt that "Philip's fault for loose oil filter" and circled his name in the corner of the page with what I believe is his employee number.
I have taken pictures of underneath my car and the oil mess on my road in front of my house that I only saw when I got home from Wal-mart on the 18th.

The Oil which was leaking onto my exhaust could of caught on fire while driving on my highway and kill my girlfriend and I.
Also when a Engine has NO OIL in it, it'll seize and that can become very dangerous on a highway going 100km/h.
I am very lucky that we're not dead because of Wal-Mart's negligence. I don't know what damages occurred while driving without any oil.
And I don't think this is a Small Matter as Your Mechanic saw the oil leak and didn't let anyone know.
He left my car leave Wal-Mart's Shop with a serious problem that could of claimed not only the lives of myself but my Girlfriend, and any others on the road.

I want something done on Your part, and I want to be compensated AND I want my Honda Civic checked for ANY Damages and FIXED.

Thanks for your time.

I've gone to Mr. Lube for years of service. So i suggested to my pa to go there. After the oil change, they didn't tighten the oil plug enough. By the time he got home (215km later) he checked the oil in which half of the oil was gone. Fortunately it did not do any damage to the motor. So he called and bitched about the poor service and got a free oil change. If the motor had seized up and risked bodily harm, then 'yes' there would had been quite the law suit.

For a quick oil change i only go to 'The Pit Stop' @ Dixie and Steeles. Nice people, cheap and you can ask all the question you would like. Plus you can go into the pit and view everything yourself.

Jiffy Lube and Mr. Lube will never get into my wallet again. Wal-Fart? Hell no! They can barely wipe their own ***.

Make sure to document EVERYTHING, time, place and witness. You might need this info for a potential small claims court case.
