Oil Change
#42
get the oil and filter yourself and pay a shop to do it if you want to avoid all the mess. i recently did my first at honda....mobile 1 super syntec ($50) plus the hamp filter ($8)...plus you pay the shop 12-15 bucks to do it. not bad for an oil change twice a year

the oil is roughly $45 or whatever, the filter is another $20ish... plus tax and some kinda extra charge (environmental) it came out to $70plus. it's a cartridge filter, not the normal metal canister ones.
as for the old oil, i find a pristine glacier lake and dump it in there hey, if they're gonna charge me to do the environmentally sound thing, then screw them. haha... no rly, i do what cynikal said, i drop if off in front of the walmart garage.

Regardless of what you drive, you should still be able to do it yourself...
Yeah, in some cars it's hard to find or get to the oil filter...meh, suck it up! lol
If it looks difficult, go to a shop and ask them how they do it.

Most places will charge a fee. I drop off my used motor oil at the brampton recycling center at Chrysler Dr. & Williams Pkwy. They don't charge you anything and have a 80L a day limit on used motor oil. They have a few location, http://www.region.peel.on.ca/pw/waste/crc/locations.htm.

Mark, may I suggest something..
It's not the best idea to store a car with fresh oil in it. From the months of sitting, the crankcase/oil gets contaminating with moisture. Instead I would recommend just doing a fresh oil change before you start the car up for the first time in the spring. But then again.. you said you do an oil change in the springtime anyways, so I guess I'm just trying to save ya a few bucks

I've decided to do the oil change myself. Neccessary materials came to $50 (4.4L reg Castrol Oil $13, Engine flush $5, Fram Air & Oil filter $19, Ngk V-power plugs $13 & PCV valve FREE!!!) all where bought from CT. now i can do my mini tune up for the price of a regular oil change.
I will try to post a DIY in the process. I checked where the oil filter was placed... its a little hard to reach. I will be doing the oil change for the first time so goodluck to me.
does anyone know where the PCV valve is located on a D16Y7?

dont do it yourself
i totally agreed with some comments about bringing to the shop, you dont have to craw underneath the car just to save a few dollars, and most importanly a few dollars might risk your life. if you dont know how to set up the jack probably and when things get worst, you could injure yourself or kill yourself. IT'S NOT WORTH IT

did the oil change this afternoon. took me about 1hr 30mins. the actual oil change is easy but that stupid PCV valve is a pain in the ****!!! DIY posted.
question: will a stock 96 grill fit a 98???

yeah, grilles are the same 96-98 on all models... i mean not the same but interchangable. interestingly enough though, the H symbol on a coupe/hatch is diff't from the sedan H. i run a coupe grille on my sedan
