Actually, Al, the rent-a-cop was extremely polite, knowledable, was sympathetic to our plight, and gave us suggestions where we may be able to meet without trespassing. A rarity, I would think...

And I bet this suggested location was across town as far away for SM as possible, right.

Sorry to hear what happened.

The rent-a-cop I was yalking about was at Rona. The suggested place was a one minute drive south. Cool fella. Most I've met seem less than accomodating...

Oh, that'd be a 5 minute drive for auto boy!

Just a thought, but what about one of the GO lots? They have Solo events at the one in Bronte right? So a bunch of cars just sitting there, not racing around might not be a problem. And, if the Police or GO Transit Police ask what we are doing... Hey we're all just wait'n for the bus!

Was this just last night that they kicked us out? Was it when i left and those two rent a cops were walking over?

That's pretty harsh..

I'll keep a look out for good locations...

dude yes the bronte GO station has solo events ... however those events are run by competition corvette club... I ain't saying lets not hang out there but they are very posessive about the lot and about still being able to use it if they were to lose the lot because property management started seeing imports hange out there .. I'm sure there would be some sort of ban on those of us that participate in solo 2 from participating in their competitions anymore .... and I've always loved their competitions ... so I ain't willing to risk losing competing in those events just to hang out in a place with zero admenities around ... hell washrooms are a good 5 minute drive away ...

First off, too bad for getting booted from yet another place...

I was just gonna suggest that... a GO station or TTC station parking lot. They're usually huge so if you went off into a secluded corner then I don't think that anybody would complain.

But yeah, things like bathrooms are a problem though since they're usually located inside the station (as in you pay first to get inside) so things like Tim Hortons or other coffee shops would be better. There are tons of Timmy's around so I'm sure that you guys can find one that'll accomodate you. I've been to a couple of meets before (a LONG time ago) and the club is full of nice people who don't make too much noise or cause a ruckus so I'm sure that this is all just a case of a few ruining it for the rest of them.

Good luck in finding a new location...

Mmm.... I am thinking:

1) Coffee Time on Leslie & 16th. Has indoor smoking room and the lot can fit 20 to 30 cars. Has back loading dock so cars can park in the back, too.

2) Still thinking...

The thing is, we need to find a place where it is just for TCC, and not other clubs. We can sorta control our members by telling them not to litter and keep the lot clean, but we can't tell other people what to do. When a place gets all complex, the property manager will just get pissed and howl everyone out.

I think a nice small lot will do. Half the club sits inside, some smoke outside and whatnot. All within 5 to 10 feet walking distance so easier to view and all. Right at the corner of the street and across from Shell Gas Station. Alot of people go there at night just to chill and even study.

So I am thinking, as Canadian Citizen, we all have the rights of peaceful gathering events and whatnot. If the private property can become a problem, let's meet in public lands own by the City.

Let's park a long strip along street side, that's near a coffee shop and whatnot so should you go, it is not too far away.

You know, (and this is for East end meeting again), On Main Street (HWY7 & Main) where the old village is, we can hang out at one of the parking lots, some can go for a nice walkout, rollerblade, go to restaurants for beer, buy icecreams, go to StarBucks... etc etc. It has tons of people go there for leisure, and hot cars would go there to show off so I don't think they will see us as a threat.

Just a thought.

about the security guard that kicks us out of KK and Rona and all that stuff, i was at KK last night at about 11:40 pm and there were about 8 cars parked there, all of which were "souped up" i say "souped" cuz they were really ugly but whatever.. and the security guard wasn't kicking them out, when we asked he said they weren't alot of them and they weren't causing any trouble so they could stay for now... and went back to reading his book... (it wasn't the usual guy)

so now i'm wondering how seriously do they really take kicking us out? or do they just care on friday/saturday nights? doesn't seem fair.....
