New Rule For Insurance?!

My insurance company just called and said, anyone with a civic under 25 years old needs to take pictures of their front and the back of their car to show that it is not modded (something to do with lowering) The rule passed due to all the modded civics... if ur car is modded according to then, you will be paying REALLY HIGH thats if companies will insure you... Just to let u guys know

I had to take insurance pics of my car, but thats because I got theft/vandelism and they wanted to make sure that I could not claim for any damages already on the car. As for the mods part not sure they didn't ask?

Sounds like bologne to me. Why would insurance companies single out just Civics? If they were to do something like this wouldn't they target all sport compacts?

heheh I'm just joking man, but it does sound awfully strange that insurance companies would specifically target Civics and "lowering" it? I mean...if anything I'd think it would be like "exhaust" or something..hahhaha...or hell those LED washer lights LOL ...

anyhow find out and let us know please, thanks!

Yes its strange... Maybe it has to do with the wheel wells, and if its to low, oits not safe.. not exatcly sure... I will get more info... If they do think my car is modded (which i doubt it) because basically muy exterior is stock (except windshield banner) Then i will probably have to sell the civic, because suposivly the insuranbce will triple or soemthing.. which will goto 600 a month... eep... this is stupid...

Well, First of all, InFaMoUs90 has a 1990 H/B....In fact he's already paying 3 times more than what I am paying for mine...but I am 29 yrs old

As for why they would single out Civic? According to my insurance agent. Civic is known be the most popular, cheapest import car to mod. And look how every streets have a slightly modded Civic.

I remember there was a girl in neighborhood asked me why I have a bad boy’s car? You can tell Civic has its own "Unique Image" in people's mind!

Look at the bright side, people also look at Civic = High Performance = Fast = Cool Car To Drive!

regards,
Mugen C

Ok, i got more news on the civic deal.
From what my mom says, the cops have sent out letters to the insurnace companies saying that anyone with a civic that is from 1988-1991 who is under 25 needs to send in pictures of their car from the side and back to show that it is not lowered. They did this because of how popular civics are becoming modded and insurance companies dont want them modded because they think they will be street racing. They said if my car is lowered then they will drop me, and most companies will not take me or some will but i will have to pay triple the amount.... Thats what i heard
