new honda ad ...

I love this commercial, just puts out a nice vibe and it represents the camaraderie civic owners have.

kudos to honda for recognizing the segment that has kept you going !

personally I think the civic nation ads are a bad Idea for honda...

here's why,

in the past be it when 4th 5th 6th or even 7th gens (or 3rd or 2nd but the tuning scene wasn't big then) Honda never had to market the civic, the youth marketed it for them by buying it and personalizing them. why did they do this? because buying them was the cool thing, and cars of course represented freedom, buy a civic and doing it up was the in thing to do. however with Honda now "announcing" that buying a civic and doing it up is "cool" youth will turn away from this and buy other cars. why? because youth hate being told what to like. (I am generalizing here). Personally honda should stop trying to sell the car and go back to just making what they like and the sales will follow as long as they are good cars... the move from the double wishbone wasn't a good one IMO.

I dunno, the way I figure, if people are buying hondas to supe em up, theyre not gonna stop because of Honda is telling them to, there's really no reason, the lot of my peers I talked to think the commercial is cool.

I think on the contrary if youth didn't like being told what to like then the biggest segment of advertising on tv etc... wouldn't consist of youth..... people aged 15-24.... think what you will but the facts suggest these people are actually the most prone to advertising, that's why everything focuses on them.... older people just want info and don't really care for suggestions... marketing 101
