It is true that Honda's grow on you, like the latest civic is just starting to make me want to look at it for more than 2 secs.

The only thing is that is difficult to buy a car by telling yourself, I will eventually grow to love it. I want to see a car and I want it to give me a hard on right there on the spot... like the 300 series from BMW

secondly, you are right, you probably wont be able to get that off right away but give it a little bit of time - how long has it been that the rsx has been out???????? and as i say my local dealer is advertising on the windshield $3000 off rsx premiums and $3500 off type s's - the new car buzz wears off very quickly these days and depending on how well a car is received in the marketplace, discounts may appear very soon after introduction.
You obviously don't surf this board much or else you would see people drooling over the EVO VIII's, Subaru WRX STi, G35 coupe (which I would choose over the accord coupe), or the BMW 3 series....and saying they would dump their cars in a second for them....case in point audiophilia who did just that.

Just because we are on a honda board doesn't we are so narrow to think that just possibly there are better cars out there.

And saying because Acura gives those rebates doesn't mean honda will. Acura has different issues.

One of Honda's biggest probs is they have no cars for people to move up into after buying a civic and that's why everyone always aspires to get a BMW or something else after they finish with their civic/accord. Toyota did a better job with their Lexus line I feel. This isn't bs... my friend works for Honda Canada.
Remember how when the TL came out they compared it to the BMW's???? Ever hear them say that anymore...nope cause they are not the same class. Acura is somewhere in between the Honda and prestige class(BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus etc)

This is a board and opinions come from everywhere. I respect yours, but don't assume I can't express mine even when they don't align with the majority
have a good one

apparently honda did the same thing they did with the porsche boxter and s2000.. find a similar car and reverse engineer it! boo!!!

Honda does not reverse engineer you ape. Watch what you say

Ok, let's compare the Boxster and the S2000

Boxster S2000
mid engine front engine
2.7 liter 2.0 liter
6 cyl 4 cyl
217hp 240hp
5spd 6spd
7200rpm redline 9000 rpm redline
6.7sec 0-60mph 5.3sec 0-60mph

So how are they similar, assrabbit? Cuz they have an open top and 2 seats Oh yeah, I see the reverse engineering in that

Don't make me do this for the Accord and CLK or I'll you.

Babs, I'mma you too, so pipe down

bbarbulo - You have to admit they are not as much as a leader as they used to be. But then again it is the whole car industry that is following each other. Cars used to be so distinctive of each other.... now they are following the same trend......

Hey bbarbulo..... Is it going to be a ButterBean VS Jonny Knoxville part two between us

I don't look at cars in terms of looks...cars to me are like women, they can look average, but more than make up for it in quality. So when I look at a car, I don't care how it looks, I care about how it's built, the technology behind it, longevity, materials, price value, etc. So, like the Honda Insight and Toyota Echo can really appeal to me even though they aren't real lookers.

Now women...they have to appeal to me physically first before I ever want to find out more...but then agian, I don't have to wake up next to my car ...usually LOL

The reason cars follow a trend is because of those pencil-necked geeks we call marketers. They figure out...ok, now ppl like crisp lines on their cars....so the designers draw up one of those. Then in 10-15 years, they say...ok, now we need the bubbly look again, and away the designers go. When all is said and done, they ***** the **** out of the engineers with their selling strategies. Cars used to be built by engineers a long time ago, not bean counting accountants. Honda us just keeping up with the business side of things, but that doesn't mean their technology is slipping. Honda still builds top notch cars, no matter how they look.

As for Bean/Knoxville I don't follow sports (esp. boxing...so violent) Let's just say, it would be like this.... hello, 911...yeah, we need an ambulance, we have a man down You can call him babs when he regains conciousness Jokes...I'm a , not a

bbarbulo - I am also a firm believer of buying a car for for it's technology, resell value and other aspects.

As far as Butterbean and Johnny Knoxville fight, it was in the 'Jackass the Movie' ...... very funny ****!!

I think the new coupe is way better looking than the coupe from the previous gen, the triangle tail lights and the high rear bumper were big turnoffs for me, i think this new coupe is 100000% times better than the old one!

only resemblance is in the tail lights, but even then like bbarbulo so deftly pointed out, it's not necessarily that honda is copying Mercedes, it's just a trend right now....

Furthermore, it's not like they can see it and then copy it, and put it in production for next week It takes 18 months from clay to release basically (and that's FAST!!!), usually more like 24 months in the case of a generation change. That in mind, it would involve corp espionage (spelling police where u at?) but I doubt that Honda would waste their time on that bull just to "copy" a car they don't even compete against

New ACCORD VS. Last Gen ACCORD

the new accord coupe is nice...but the last gen would probably be the best gen in my opinion...mainly because of its NSX-like tails, NOW, if the new gen accord had somewhat the same tails from the last gen, then it would be the best accord honda engineered IMO...

BUT, the new coupe's v6 is a beast..listen to the growl coming from the powerplant w/ a CAI..link here:http://www.speedoptions.com/articles/3264/rd1675.mpg

but this gen is still my fav..
