Why would people upgrade engine power before brake and tires...

Suspension/handling, rim + brake, then engine. That's how I would do it. Any interior/exterior parts can come in between as you please. Like when you see something on sale, or some nice 2nd hand parts just grab it. But that doesn't mean you have to put them on right away.

Having a 50 - 70% increase in power while you run on stock brake components is not the best route to go.

Rims without a drop is naaaasty. Rims with 108hp, embarrassing.

suspension is definitely first.

personally, engine is last.

guess it depends on what you bought your car for... looks or speed. having both is a bonus and is very $$$$

first do something with the suspension, whether it be coilovers or springs, lower it then get a rear lip then rims, id do the rims before the rear lip
