New car advice (SiR vs SiR)

I have decided to get rid of my 98Si. My current financial standing will allow me to lease a 2002 SiR with Enkie rims and Eibach springs already installed from the dealer (Taffeta white, fully loaded, dealer demo) OR buy a 1999 SiR from the same dealer for alot cheaper monthly payments (Milano red, mint, mint condition, totally stock, traded in for a brand new Accord). Any thoughts on buying versus leasing? Comparison of the two cars? Current owners of either how do you like them? Thanks, Mike.

Any 02 SiR followers??? I like the new one because they are still pretty rare, and drive real nice. Shifter, seats, pretty quick compared to my current car. It already has the basic mods done to it, and it looks great lowered with the Enkies. BUT, there are few mods I could do to it because it is leased, I have to give it back after 4 years, and it would cost me about $500 a month. The 99 SiR has 60,000kms on it, but was owned by some old guy, who followed the service intervals, and maintained it perfectly. It looks and drives like a brand new one. I'll own it, so I can do whatever I want to it without having to worry about breaking any rules of a lease. 99 is winning so far.

B16 all the way boss, B16. Your heart starts pumping when it hits the VTEC (at 5200) and then you let it go for another 2-3G's more!!!

The 99 SIR still takes my breath away.

Holy! That Sol got messed up! Hope its not yours man.

I'd get the '02 SiR (althought its a tough choice) depends how badly the '99 SiR motor was beaten.
The K-Series has potential.

Hey Mike, I know both of those cars you're looking at (those SPECIFIC cars). It's a tough decision between the two. I've looked at them both. That 99 SiR on the lot looks really nice (I was oogling it on the weekend when I was home). I'd go for that over the 2002 SiR -- although, it too is a beauty of a car.

LOL I didn't think this pic would raise that many eyebrows! Hardly anyone said anything about my dancing sol.

Nah, that ain't my car, I just collect sol snuff pics to keep me from driving too crazy. (Ed that's what your car is going to look like if you keep driving 160KM)

Take advice from the majority of the replies here and go with the older SiR. I'd like mine to stay, as you said "rare".

You may or may not kick yourself in the *** for buying either one.

Have fun deciding!

i'd say '99 SiR, if not for the looks, simply because after the 4 years you'll own it, if you get the '02 SiR all you'll have to show for the 4 year lease is.... well absolutley nothing, it doesn't make sense to lease if you can buy, the only way leasing pays off is if you own your own company and can write it off as an expense, other than that don't waste your time....

I'd go with the 99 SiR. I have never liked the 02 SiR and never will.

Definately the 99 SiR since you will be purchasing it not leasing it, you can whatever you want and yet you get the equilty (sp?) so you can sell it and get the value there, and as you said it also has a lower monthly payments.

Purchased cars are more fun Anything leased, you will never truly own (well, unless you buy out of the lease, but that's expensive).

Yeah go for the 99 SiR. I like the fact that my 02 SiR is rare.
It's really a tough choice. I was sold on the 02 SiR once I saw the seats and steering wheel. However I wasn't too impressed when I saw the redline.

Buying makes more sense to me here. I couldn't comment on anything about the cars specifically, other than the fact that I really don't like the looks of the 02 SiR. Aside from that, you're saying the payments on the '99 will be less, AND you'll own it? As long as it's in good condition, I don't see any reason to get the '02. Take the money you save, and make the car faster!

Talking IF I WERE YOU...

IF I WERE YOU, I'D SAY..
Out with the Old, and in with the New man...

I'd choose the New SiR any day over the Old one because-
1. It's a Hatchback!
2. There's a 7th gen Civic Type R, that u can mod ur new Sir into!
3. It's NEWER
4. the shift ****.
5. Interior is nicer, standard RECARO, suede, red stitching
6. It has the new K series engine and iVTEC, come'on, don't you wanna own something that no JOE has with their b-series?
7. Get new JDM parts cheap for it! steering wheel, type r wing...
for example, off ebay: DC5 Integra (RSX) JDM lights- $300-400US
DC2 Integra JDM lights- $500-600US
8. It's a Hatchback! come'on, don't you want a hatchback?

ON, AND ON, AND ON....that's my opinion though, don't mean to disrespect, put down, or offend any of u 6th gen SiR owners! heck, u guys beat my close to stock 95 Integra LS all the time...
