New to board

Hi all,
I'm new to this site and just got a 2002 civic DX last week! It's running great & definitely a big upgrade from my 94 Oldsmobile lol!

Just wondering if anyone knows what type of oil is best to use in the car?? I know nothing about this sort of thing to be honest...and I have to get an oil change this week.

Also, what's a good price to pay for car security systems?? I've seen a few for under $200, but not sure about their quality and all that...
How effective are wheel-locks instead of a car alarm??

Thanks all & look forward to hearing from ya & being part of future civic meet-ups!!

I paid $250 for my Viper alarm installed but a buddy got one for around $200....wheel locks are only useful for preventing wheel theft.....I personally feel that alarms are always a good way to go...The first thing I did after I bought my Civic was install an alarm and didn't take it home until it was done.

Welcome to the club folks.

IMO, any full synthetic like amsoil or mobil 1 is very good.

Thanks for all the info!
You're all so quick to respond! Gonna look into more security systems & find one that fits my budget and needs.

Please don't waste your money on synthetic oil. Go to canadian tire, get the cheapest 5w30 oil you can get. Just make sure you change it every 3 months/5000km and you'll be fine.

Trust this guy! He knows what he's talking about.

Except for the 5w30 lol. Your car is 5w20 I'm very positive.
