Need your opinions on the Honda Element

I'm thinking of getting rid of my 05 "LV" Reverb and tomorrow I'm going to go to Honda to take a look at the 2007-2008 Honda Element (I'm looking at the SC model in the metallic Rootbeer color). I was wondering if anyone has driven one or has had one and what kind of review you would give it. I really like the look of these, and from what I've read it sounds right up my alley.

If anyone works for Honda if you could PM me please, I wouldnt mind seeing what you could offer in terms of a deal aswell.

Thanks!

I think they're the best looking 'ugly' car i've ever seen...

the new S/C model looks AMAZING IMO (esp in black) and what gets me even more is that it's a SUPER functional car... so many configurations and what not... if I needed something like that i'd be all over it... definitely a cool ride...

and to top it all of it's damn unique too

Hey Mandie,
I would say as long as youare not running with alot of weight in the vehicle then they are a nice run around vehicle...could use a little more power though...

I was working at Honda when those came out, and I love the way they drive and feel. Plus you get at not bad audio system in them, and with the sub under the shifter, it sounds really good. Get it Mandie, you will love it.

I'm not planning on modding it to the extent I did with the Civic. I plan on having maybe two 12"s or 1 15", I'm not going crazy. Eventually I would do the exhaust, rims and maybe a few accent things- not go overboard. It's got more power than the civic I'll tell you that! I'm really looking for something that I can be versatile with, I can pull with it, load it up with crap and it (imo) looks great. It's still sporty enough for me without crying out it's a 4 door.

Thanks for your input Neil, Alex and Jason

Mandie, I think the Element is a very nice option for a new car. I remember that when they came out I absolutely hated them, but now that they come with painted bumpers and fenders, and that they also come in this nice colour, I began liking them a lot.

The only thing(s) I don't like about them are the gas consumption and the fact that there is no sunroof available for the driver, but I love the interior room, the versatility, the options. When I was looking at buying a new car I drove the Element and I did like the ride as well.

As for buying one, or even looking at one, I can recommend you talk to my buddy. He works for Honda, and he gave me and my wife awesome deals when we bought our Civics from him. PM me if you want his name and number.

There are turbo kits available

and a relatively cheap 6th gear mod to the MT.

Ive driven them. The SC is awesome, the whole look of it and a way better interior then the other models. the only thing that stinks is that u can only get them in 2wd. Try and find an 07 model right now, it may be hard because i know they may have already started getting 08 elements in stock.

The wife and I are going to be trading in our 06 Civic EX and the Element was one of the vehicles we were considering. I loved the versatility and size and it performed decently for a small SUV. But, the poor gas mileage isn't a strong point with me commuting to Cambridge and on a test drive, I didn't like the ride on the highway. IMO, it was noisy and didn't feel very stable.

Now, I'm waiting patiently to see if the Si Sedan does indeed come to Canada this fall. I'm also waiting to see the pricing on the 08 Accords. I love they way it looks.

that accord looks like 6 different cars rolled into one.

Still like the looks of them though.
Wish they would make them RWD though.
