check out the forums at www.vwvortex.com
You should do an audi 1.8T swap instead.

vr6 slow? hahahahaha...I dunno what vr6 u been in but they are pretty quick, my arent super fast but pretty quick and on the highway they go like stink...what u gotta realize is that vw's and audi's are highway cars for cruising at high speeds

its a nice swap but I would rather go for the 1.8t swap instead...but then again nothin sounds better than a VR6 w/ cold air intake

i test drove a 2002 golf vr6 with the 6 speed... and i was honestly not impressed with performance... maybe it was the car... probably it was the motor

your best option is to sell the car and buy something more respectable

ya man, mybuddy used to have a corrado vr6, those things r slow....a v6 that only makes 170ish hp, mean while hondas got 4 bangers making 200hp, not as much torque but also dont weigh as much

golf gti drivers edition (vr6) is far from slow...but yes vdubs are full of electrical gremlins...the thing in a VW is that u dont know how fast u are goin cuz u dont feel it like in a Honda cuz they arent high revving "noise makers" lol

both cars have their strengths and weaknesses...I dont hate vw and I dont live for honda...I like cars in general so I can respect all makes for what they are

you could be right... plus my car is really tight suspension wise and that thing was like a caddy... but from a performance standpoint the 1.8T motor have lots more potential... mostly because they dont take up the entire engine bay and are a lot lighter

My friend has a mk2 and he found a guy that will do a VR6 swap (1999 motor I think), vr6 suspension conversion, vr6 wheels, vr6 leathers, vr6 and panels for I think 5000 tax in. Don't know my vdubs so I would'nt know if thats a good deal or not.

The Audi 1.8T is even better. I've seen both the VW 20 valve head and the Audi 20 valve head beside each other. The Audi has bigger ports. Although i have heard that the audi 1.8T engine is insanely expensive. But you get what you pay for.

BLAH...... the newer motors VR6 are better
the 1.8T is good b/c u can always upgrade it..... Turbo being the upper hand....

but then again TDI would give the upper hand on BOTH...

BEAT THAT.
