Question NEED IDEAS to fill hole in dash

I like having my CD Player at the bottom...so now I have a hole at the top where my stock Radio was...I'd rather not put the Stock radio back cause It's ugly and I'd like make mine look 'different' somehow...I just don't know what to put there

-An Apexi VTEC Controller would cost too much
-Flip up LCD is also too much
-Maybe Gauges?

Stick some guages in it.. air/fuel, water temp, voltmeter would be my choices.

Get a factory "pocket", that way you have a place to put your crap...ie cell...cds...speeding tickets you refuse to pay....ect....:working:

By the way....wheres the "finish" trim piece for the radio?

Is there a place/shop that will cut me a custom carbon fiber panel for the hole????

Also, does Honda make a pocket for that hole...cause I tried taking a 99-00 Pocket (the one under the stock radio) and It didnt fit in that hole

I dont think Honda makes a pocket to go where the factory radio is for the 96-98...or do they?

They do....it's called a "factory delet" plate or pocket.

If you can't find one.....you're going to have the mod the one you have to fit the hole....ie......custom trim piece......simular to the one you should make for the radio so it would look finished/flush.

It's only a matter of time before 94EG6HB see's this post, and gives you the part number you seek.

:working:

Gunmetal Si: Did you have to pay extra to install your deck at the bottom or did you do it yourself?

The apexi controller will look best...but it costs quite a bit...can anyone get me one cheap?

If i cant get that...ill probably put gauges...i dont want another pocket.

And yea...I put the radio in the bottom my self...it was really easy...easier than installing a radio in the top...mind you its easier for someone to steal from the bottom...oh well..i reallly like it down there

it's easy for you because you drive a 96-98 Civic, 99-00 Civic have a different cup holder/pocket from the 96-98 models

oh yes...96-98 have a DIN sized hole where the cassette player was...99-00's have a big hole (pocket) right? guess you can't put a CD player down there...but the 99-00 heater control panel looks better anyways..so putting the CD player up there is ok

Why don't you just get a mortorized 7"screen...

Navigational System, DVD, PS2, X Box, etc... can be setup to your screen....

It will look sick....

wasup eL...a motorized screen would be nice...but too expensive...what is the cheapest one? thats a good $1000 or more rite?

Ill probably save for the APExi Controller or get some gauges to stick in there

yeah that should be good and still affordable, just get a din sized panel or whatever, and then you can just cut into it to put your gauges there, or you can try to find some gauge pods that come in that size, i just dunno if they make them to fit in a din enclosure.... lol keep me uptodate on this stuff cuz i think i'll end up doing the same thing as you! it does look much better down low!
