I have a quick question for you guys. Is it possible for my car to pass an e-test without the cat??

also i just read what you need for a safety and the seats are one. I have type r rears in my hatch and they arnt bolted down. will this cause it to fail?

oh god yes you'll will fail on that seat issue. What do you think will happen if you got in an accident and the seat wasn't bolted down?
Get a cat from a local junkyard. Bring cash and you'll get a better deal.

Almost impossible:
If the car came equipped with a cat and you remove it, they will fail based on the visual inspection. UNLESS the shop does NOT inspect and you have a VERY good engine, then it MIGHT pass.
You can get a universal cat from CT for cheap, just know the measurement of your exhaust pipe...

From the drive clean website FAQ:
My car was never equipped with a catalytic converter. Will it be able to pass the Drive Clean test?
In order to take the test, you will have to provide documentation that your vehicle did not come equipped with a catalytic converter. You may have to get this information from the vehicle manufacturer. If a vehicle's catalytic converter has been removed, it must be replaced with a new original equipment manufacturer unit or with a U.S. EPA-approved aftermarket replacement unit before the vehicle can be tested. It is an offence in Ontario, under the Environmental Protection Act, to operate a vehicle if the factory-installed catalytic converter has been removed.
