My stolen car was found. But how did they do it?

Hey guys. My EK hatch was stolen from scarborough town centre, and it was found the other day. I went to look at it, and NOTHING was taken. My system was there, and so was everything. I just wanna know how they were able to start my car? My alarm was on, and nothing else was touched. They didn't damage the ignition, but the plastic hood latch was broken off. Can they start it from inside the engine? Anyone have a clue?

OT, but check to see if you still have your ownership and inusrance papers if they are kept inside the car.

They may be back for it a second time.

Alarms wont do much, as sad as it is, if a theif wants the car, they will take it from you.

Glad to hear they found it, possibly just a joy ride or needed to get somewhere and then dumped it. How far was it found from scarbro town?

u have a master key.. and yes i can get another key made with a different code but that means your going to need to change the ignition, doors, and glove box if it has a lock.

the ignition need to be on first before the car will start...sure the starter will turn over this way but like kieran said...the fuel pump would need to be armed and ready for the car to actually run

Clearly you dont know then..If you DONT have the key in the ignition that will NOT work...It will just try to crank over with nothing.

Wow you're lucky lol

Maybe the thieves felt bad and ditched it.. haha..

I'd install a kill switch. I've heard its an easy, cheap mod...just gotta hide it well. Do you park in a garage?

BTW what time was your car stolen @ scar town? was it dark?

3 Level Immobilizer (shuts down ignition, starter and fuel pump).......New $30

it's basically a main kill switch that cuts off electricity to all 3 units by just turning the key. you can hide the key switch anywhere.

a honda like yours can be started 3 different ways without touching the ignition.

if your ignition is not popped it means they used a master key simple as that.

your alarm is garbage too.
