Is my engine burning too much fuel or trip meter is in miles?
I have a Canadian 96 civic ex automatic with a d16a sohc non vtec that I just got to replace a dead engine when I bought the car. The last time I went to fill up my tank I reseted the trip meter and its been 5 days and theres 1/2 tank left. On the trip meter its at 132.7, how do you tell if this is km or miles? I think there something wrong here because I only drive 20mins a day at around 70km. If its an engine problem do you think I can bring it back to the place I bought and installed it from because they said I have 3months warranty. Could it be something else thats making it burn more fuel beside the engine?

you could use google maps to see how far you drive and then see your trip meter how far you went. if your trip meter is significantly more than what google shows then its in miles . also you can take the highway and they got the km markers on the sides so you can tell whether or not your trip meter is reading in km or miles.
but i would guess that its in km. since 20mins is 1/3h so 70/3=23km 5days so thats 115km. but this is just real rough estimate. how many lights you stop at....
about how to increase your milage, it could be affected if your spark plugs are off timing or bad fuel ratio.

Colder weather, gas formulation changes for the colder weather. Short trips burn gas like a mother...
My mileage drops significantly during the colder months, compared to the summer months.
check your oil, and the tire pressure. for every degree the temp drops you loose psi in your tires, make sure they are properly inflated, as cold of a tire as possible.
