haha... all you fools with dreams of graduating school and buying an M3 If that were true, don't you think everyone in the 22-25 year range would be driving an M3, WRX STI, Evo, Corvette, S2000, etc, etc??

Look around you. THINK for one second about why not everyone drives $50-60,000 sports cars?

Cause insurance rapes you on $50-50k sports cars

I wouldn't mind having a ncie car right out of school since I'm going to save in school. However I feel it would be better to keep that money and save for another 5-6 yrs and then have a down payment on a house.

Yup - even something like buying major appliances. The money I've just spent on these things buys 2 nicely built EG Turbo's.

The more you make...the more you spend...and it's not always on cars.

Dan, I think the problem is many of these kids haven't lived away from home ever, so how should they know what bills are? They think insurance and gas is a large expense

Insurance is expensive for some of us....don't even ask.

But I know the many other bills that come with home owning are very pricey and it takes a good paying job to make all those payments.

Yeah, my insurance is $500/month

When I was in high school I worked 30 hours a week, and graduated with an 82% average.
My money was split evenly between car/school/spending money.

Now i'm 19, and I have enough to move away from home when I go to college, enough for tuition, and enough to keep my car

im 22 years old, been working since i was 17 at the same company outta highschool... been doing machine shop work.

b/c i worked hard, ive had 3 cars in the last 2 years.. haha
even if i lose out on some money,,, it doesnt bother me.....

i give him respect at that age... i barely had a social life in highschool b/c i devoted alot of my time to working.... to understand what my parents go through to raise me up. so it gave me a better understanding how tough it is to make a living.
some have it easier then others...

i have car payments, bills, i got all that stuff that ties me in the real world.....

props buddy....

p.s as you grow older to understand more... it gets worse.

it is good morals and strong work ethics that will help you in this day in age...

school and family come first.... after that, enjoy yourself and make the most out of what you are...

500 dollars a month is peanuts.

look at this ...

245 - insurance
250 - students loans
800 - credit card
200 - rent

thats my bills for the month and I know I got it easy if ElectronBlue or Cantonagod shared their month expenses it would blow the doors off your 500 for insurance.....

no I'm not putting myself into debt with the monthly expenses (racing is not a monthly expense so those expenses are being left out....) I'm just saying insurance won't be the biggest payment you make once you have a house (and mortgage) and a family to take care of and stuff... (my monthly credit card payments are because I ran up a debt and I'm now trying to get out of it)
