my bias against winter grows...

so earlier today im heading through my subdivision on the way to work. as it happens, there is an elementary school that i have to pass by, and it was some genius ****ing civic planner's (or whoever) idea to build a giant transformer box right in front of the exit from the school. anyway, the main point is not the box but the fact that snow was piled up a mile high around it.

anyway, a lady exiting did not see me due to the snow and WHANG right in the passenger side door as i was passing by. of course, i saw the collision coming by the time i couldnt stop (because it was winter and the ****ing road was slippery) so i started to swerve since the other traffic in the street had sense enough not to continue. but the other car kept moving the required half a foot in order to hit me and i was thinking its no great loss i was hoping to replace that door this season anyway.

anyway, we settled it on the spot and since i was close to home and had no information on me i had a friend in the neighbourhood come along. then i turn the car, looking, as i always do, for miles in each ****ing direction so that i could back up and head back home. all clear. so i back up and start moving the car forward thinking it's all clear when i realize:

"holy ****! i cant see anything out my window! id better sto-----BAM! just as i start to press the brakes i hit my escort who, for some DUMBASS reason, stopped in the middle of the ****ing street. i had no seatbelt on at the time since i was planning on pulling over in the 10 meters i had gone anyway so i cut my lip on the airbag which didn't deploy since the bumper was not wrecked.

the reason i couldn't see? the same reason i was hit in the first place... ****ING WINTER!!!!!! it was so cold that the window flash-fogged as soon as i got in. anyway, here's pix of the damage but not the door since it's a ****e door anyway

look at this even my fender got bent outta shape

conclusively, this is ****ing bull**** and i am starting on my plans to be ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BUT CANADA when winter rolls around next year.

ps. team rukus, if you're reading this, spare a space for me in the paintshop... i'll be along as soon as i find a bumper and door!

i forgot to mention... does anyone have a front i can pick up? the door can wait but i'm not willing to drive around in this kind of weather with my frame hangin out like the *** of an obese tv repairman.

on the plus side, the collision managed to fix the ****ed up hood latch that previously made it difficult to close

Sorry to see you had a bad day. But you do realize we live in the Great White North, eh?

i agree with you, even without the snow and dry roads, some area are so dangerous, two cars got hit in my area, inside the community, the N/S road has no speed limit yet, or stop signs, and the E/W has stop signs, but the intersection is so big, people have to go almost in the centre to be able to see the left side to make a left, because of the 2 1/2 metre high snow pile. insane, i started taking the longer route, just because of that.

i have seen so many cars with accidents like your lately. btw bad luck, hope you get it fixed soon.

Sounds like its time for you to move to southern BC. No harsh winters here. The last few days have been sunny and 10. The flowers are blooming, spring is in the air...
