Just bought a 1990 Civic Si for the winter...
Just some preliminary pics before it gets a nice lowering job, courtesy of Koni Red's + H&R race springs.
It's a 1990 civic Si ,244,000 kms
Doesnt burn oil
Interior is mint
Underbody is mint.
Ziebart rustproofing yearly.
Passenger side 1/4 panel was repainted, due to surface rust.
I just ordered Koni reds with H&R Race springs that are going on
Vibrant short shifter
New rear bumper re-bar (old one was rusted)
I am installing a brand new Master cylinder this week.
No a/c
Power sunroof

the stock 15 yr old suspension is old and rickety. Cant stand driving it like this. Its gonna be 2.25" lower and teh Konis will make it handle tremendously better.

Oh of course it will handle better, especially once we get a foot of snow on the ground!

Bah.
Low doesn't matter. Ask 1nicesi about seeing me plow though the snow in the winter with my Race drop and Si lip.

I drove my lowered (2 inch drop) Z last winter too, without problems, but I won't be doing it again, ever with that car.

It did plow through when I got my new winters. Then again, my car has torque

Alot of you guys must do some pretty light winter driving and lets be honest now! Cause my ef in the winter at stock ride height would send sheets of snow over the windshield whenever the roads werent properly plowed, that was freakin dangerous, I can only imagine how much worse it would be with a lowered car, it would be the plow effect times like 5!

are you saying the rear suspension physically broke? or are you saying the car spun out.

cuz spinning out is only a result of poor driving.

rear suspension broke.. rear upper control arm snapped, causing my wheel to flop.

I drove my hatch every day in the winter when it was lowered and drove a lot. Not just in the city either.
Knowing how to drive for the road conditions is key (not saying you don't know how to drive bro but just stating the obivious).
