moving 98 civic to ON from AB - advice?

Hi All,

New to this forum as I'm moving to Toronto from Alberta this month.

Have a 98 Honda Civic DX, manual, 260 clicks, regular oil changes, new sparks, new breaks last fall. Prob needs a timing belt sooner than later.

Some body issues - a little rust on qp, wonky self installed bumpers (ya I thought 5 bucks a clip was nuts so opted for 50% zip ties. lol!), and wheel well liners need to be replaced as well as a nasty crack on the lower front wind shield.

All in all she still drives like a dream. 668 on my last hwy tank, 550 in the city.

Wondering if it's worth it to get the timing belt done and bring her with me on the move. Have no way to get a emissions test here to determine if she's pass.

Prices for similar age cars there are around 2-4G. I'm thinking if I sunk another 1500 into her she's be ok but still worried about the etest.

This car has been thru hell and back with me and if I can keep her a few years longer I'd love to.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
