Michelin's new Tweel

What do you think of this?

Tire-less Tires.

Scanned this from the paper,
http://www.sircivik.ca/pimages/tweel.jpg

And an article...
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/01/03/au...partner=rssnyt
It has a stupid flash ad popup

Beyaz 15-Jan-2005 11:26 AM

COOL!

The spokes can be engineered to give the Tweel five times as much lateral stiffness as current pneumatic tires without any loss of ride comfort.

but there loud..., still in test I really want to see these when there all done

shlammed 15-Jan-2005 12:20 PM

i guess you dont really have to worry about tire pressure anymore

shlammed 15-Jan-2005 03:38 PM

something tells me that these will break more often then you blow a tire...

TheModFather 15-Jan-2005 05:37 PM

it may make a NICE sparetire llol

imported_gatherer 15-Jan-2005 05:46 PM

ROFL!!!!! so true not even mentioning the different feel everytime teh temps change!

VTECRACER 15-Jan-2005 06:25 PM

Saw them on TV. They will look like a regular tire, and Michelin are guaranteeing they will revolutize the tire industry.

Cynikal.Mindset 15-Jan-2005 08:44 PM

they will obviously have sidewalls...so basically the will look like a normal tire cept they dont require air...very sweet concept, fack the runflats...these will never go flat!

Beyaz 15-Jan-2005 09:32 PM

i'm

i'm sure they could make it look like a regular tire, by having an outside layer or something w/e it's cool!

Cynikal.Mindset 15-Jan-2005 09:45 PM

it is gonna look like a normal tire, treadwise and sidewall

imported_Team Rukus 16-Jan-2005 01:10 AM

relax people its just a cut out. to show u whats inside. obvioulsy they will have sidewalls.

EL_CIVIC 16-Jan-2005 01:13 AM
