just curious...

I know it's winter and all, and it's tough to find a place that's sheltered from the weather... but, where do you think the official meets should be held (during any season)?

*Keep in mind, this is only for the sake of my own curiosity... I'm sure it will have no effect on the decision of where the meets will be.

im gonna vote central, even though mississaga would be great for me and civic-chick who are comming from Woodstock, its less then a hour to Miss. from there, but i dont mind the drive and dont expect everyone to move for us... although i cant belive the amount of whinning the westenders do about driving 30 minutes, we drove over a hour the other nite, and it wasnt too bad at all.

Members from Mississauga aren't the only westenders. There's people located all across south Ontario... Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Cambridge, Woodstock, London, Windsor, etc... as well as north and east locations like Barrie, Pickering, Oshawa, etc, etc...

The idea here is to see where everyone 'thinks' the meets should be held. For the most part, I agree that they should be central, since this is the Toronto Civic Club.

I think it's healthy that our club discuss this issue every now and again. Please don't accuse members of 'whining' when they have every right to state their opinion on certain issues... whether they're from the west or where ever they may be. Thanks.

53 km East of my house I would reach Pickering.
54 km West of my house.. I'd reach Burlington.

DId you know I'm pretty much in the middle for the majority of the members as we all fall generally within Pickering and Burlington. Some extremes are outside there.

We can all meet in ETOBICOKE! haha A central place would be Etobicoke.

I suggest 401 & Weston Road (Crossroads) if anybody wants to hear my 2 cents. It has a Tim Hortons there, McDonalds, LCBO... and HUGE parking lots cuz there's Future shop, Canadian Tire, Staples.. and more in that plaza. It's scary...

whining was the worng word... i wasnt flaming anyone.. sorry if it came across like that...

I will drive anywhere to the meets when we come... KCC was too bad at all... and it doesnt have underground parking... why not just find a place where we can go in and have coffee, and if you wanna smoke go outside... ?? Like Crossroads... thats a good central location... isnt that near 400&7?

'although i cant belive the amount of whinning the westenders do about driving 30 minutes'

If there was a smiley for 'tongue-in-cheek' most of us would use it at the end of our 'whines'. We like TCC and our happy to drive just about anywhere to see our friends from the east, south, west and north. During the summer, we would meet 3 or four times in the west and still make the Official Wed meet.

In leiu of tongue-in-cheek

How far is it to Oshawa, Bowmanville you know because Jeff, Karl and I do go to these meets every week!!! Pickering is atleast 25 km from me, and Karl is probably another 15-20 km further east than I am. Did I mention that all three of us go EVERY WEEK. BTW, I picked Central.
