The Jook Sing Kid speaks... (thoughts)
They say that moving is one of the most traumatic events in your life. I believe this applys not only to moving homes, but moving anywhere anything.
The "old place" was familiar, everyone went through their own process of adjusting to the nuances that existed at the Kennedy Commons. Even though it wasn't perfect it was what we we're used to. In a sense, we called our home.
But as the club grew as well as the notoriety of the Kennedy Commons and politics amongst groups changed, we began to grow to big for our home. There was a need to find a solution.
The O'Connor meet spot was presented to us and so far we've had 1 chance to test it out for a regular meet.
Now as I read board following after the meet, I didn't see the usual posts, no one complained about domestics, no one complained about police, there was no line up at Timmies!
No one posted how cool TCC people were.
Instead I read a lot of how dark the meet spot was. (Honestly. even though I knew it was dark, I never really noticed) My energy was focused on meeting people I never met before, making friends, helping new and old friend with questions that they had. I finally met nauticac online, I sold eric a set of winter tires, I bummed smokes off of lots of people, I gave Alan a hug and wished him a happy birthday, I look at Rays engine and chatted about "car ownership issues" I was more happy to see the familiar faces of TCC members which I may only see but once a week.
TCC is not Kennedy Commons, and TCC is not O'Connor or a West End meet spot.
TCC is a group of individuals that have decided that based around common interest we would post on a board, meet chat, and through these events we've become friends.
Now before I get distracted and talk about the "haters" and how I don't give a damn about what the critics heed...
I really wanted to say, was that I had an awesome time.
It was really good seeing everyone again.
Hi to everyone who I just met, and if I don't know you and you see me at the meet, come shake my hand.
I'm looking forward to next weeks meet.
And I'm glad there are people out there looking out for the best interest of the club.

Well said....and I believe the true belief of TCC and its members. It shouldn't matter where we meet, but rather that we do meet and that we have fun doing it.

Out of curiousity... Do you like or not like the O'Conner place? To be honest, this place is just as far as KC so it's not a matter of travelling, but do you like the atmosphere better?
(going here requires you get off @ DVP or Vic Park when on the 401 and going south like 5 km. That's roughly the same distance if you were to stay on the 401 and keep going to KC.)
