Yeah,
when I first came out to meets at KC I felt so outta place. Picture a white kid, 18, dressing in urban clothing trying to talk a bunch of people who are atleast 20+ who dont share the same taste in music etc. Well I was completely wrong to think I would be unwelcomed because pretty much everyone in the club welcomed me and ive met so many awesome people through tcc.

Nada, matt and rich.....I totally understand that the scene is getting tainted and slowing down alot but if thats the reason your gonna give up on the hobby then why did you start? I actually look up to people like you guys and Jeff and Neil and marty for approval when I do stuff to my car. Seeing you guys quiting the scene is sorta making me wonder if its really worth it if my peers are leaving now.

I think a thread like this could be the start of the resurection of TCC if we can get enough people to understand what the club is all about and to not be shy and come to the meets.

What a touching thread lol. I'm glad I found this club, its a great experience, meeting all these people, getting help with whatever when you need it. The westend guys will remember all the meets we had last summer, those were the times.... Back when we were having mini meets every other day at the timmies at Erin Mills Town Center... Everyone I've met here has been very helpful and just fun to hang out with and talk about cars or whatever... There's my rant, thought Id add it here...

just such a far drive for us to go to those meets. Its like 2 hours pretty much. My car eats gas as well. Maybe once or twice every couple months.

Greg, I couldn't have said it better... I'd like to extend that to EVERYONE that I've met in the club at all the meets -- The big meets we had in the parking lot at Home Depot in Mississauga off the 401 are unforgettable, the HUGE meets at Kennedy Commons are just as memorable, and even the underground meets at Times Square (Leslie & Hwy 7)... those are the times I recall the most about this club.

The reason why I joined and stayed with TCC? The people at the meets are GREAT. I have extended my family with the friends I have made here.

muscle cars didn't last much more then 10 years... so its really no suprize the whole honda thing isn't either.... civic are just way to accessable and everybody wants to look cool and they buy one....

the one positive to the decline is that in a couple more years hopefully all the riceboys will have realized how stupid there cars look and civic can go back to everything they should be, minus all the bad... heck in a couple years of no riceboys or idiots racing there civics around our premiums might even go down....

the more i think about the financial cost to fun the civic is still hard to beat.... i mean i could go out spend 2g's in an LS engine... 2 more on a homemade turbo and i got a 2000 lbs car with 200 hp or more.... you just can't beat that....

Some people didn't join this club just because of their car. I actually joined because I was depressed from some personal problems that I was going through and needed an outlet. It may seem funny, but TCC was like a light at the end of the tunnel for me at the time. I made a big mistake financially by buying my car, but everyone in this club made me feel a whole lot better about it. Much has changed over the past year-plus that I've been around, but I'll never forget how much better and welcome the people here made me feel. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make it out to any meets in the past few months due to priorities in life and work, however I'll be around again soon. Hopefully, Nada and others who have left the scene will be around occasionally as well.
