2. Lip Kit - Yes all the way. I believe its worth paying $2.5K for all four/five pieces painted and installed by the dealer. Not just the fit and finish will be perfect but they come under the vehicle's warranty as well. I might save..say a few hundred dollars by ordering them through the ebay dealer, then getting them painted and then installed...this will take too much time..which i dont have. might as well get it all at once.

3. Suspension - agree with alex on this one. 1" is hardly a drop...i might as well invest in a decent and capable set of coilover kit...which will be around the same price.

And all this is true for either the TSX or the TL.

I will be going for test drives with my wife this week or the coming weekend to see how we both like each of the cars. The auto/man. and the navi. options are still under debate at the moment.

will be updating this thread till i get the damn car...

raj...will PM you later for sure.

All of the OEM lip kits come prepainted from th factory, you can't purchase them unpainted unless you find knockoffs somewhere...

Coilover kit is def worth it, i opted to go with tein basics instead of the a-spec suspension and i love it, rides just like stock... no problems, and it was about the same price...

Furthermore, Salman if you buy from the states they come prepainted and all you have to do is install the kit. They come with a warranty of their own if you buy it from a honda/acura dealer. The install is extremely easy and most diy'ers can do it easily in an hour or two.

On a side note, do you know if the stock TSX deck has an auxilliary input for an mp3 player? Does the stock deck have the capability of playing mp3 cds?

^ Werd,

i was considering between an SI and a TSX and to be honest i'd never go back to a civic, even tho i love the civic and the SI is a nice car... but really .. the TSX has more potential, the k24 responds extremely well to basic bolt ons, the SI is fairly tuned out from the factory, less potential to increase speed... etc...

and the TSX overall is just more car, better car, than a civic... totally different class they don't compete with one another at all..

the 06+ TSX has an aux port in the centre console where you can plug in your mp3 player, or if you have an ipod you can buy a USA Spec Ipod Adapter for like 150 CAN off ebay which lets you control the ipod with your steering wheel controls, or the HU controls... definitely worth every penny of it... and it's a SNAP to install... took like 30 minutes. (most of which was routing the wires)

the TSX stock deck DOES NOT play mp3's... you can buy an mp3 player upgrade from the dealer, but definitely not worth it if you have an ipod

This USA spec ipod adaptor you speak of that can be run off the steering wheel controls....is it an aftermarket item? Can it be used on the 04-05 models? Do you have any links to the product website or even the ebay auction?

Well Salman, I'm sure you can get the entire lip kit for less then 1000$ CAD. If you go to the states and install in the Acura Parking lot, you can drive back without paying duty and taxes on it. That is definitely the route I'm taking.

for less than 1000CAD ??

... again talking without proof... seem to do that often eh?

it's about 1300-1400 CAD after you convert...

if you have an 04/05 it's cheaper, Acura Woodbine had a parts clearance but that's over now... 06/07 are more expensive...

07 is the same as 06 only difference is added TPMS, everything else is EXACTLY the same

- the usa spec yes here is a link... http://www.usaspec.com/

apparently searching on google works like a wonder every time

edit: buying the 04/05 kit is cheaper in canada from woodbine, in the states they still cost about the same... some people from the states actually bought their kits from woodbine and shipped 'em south cuz they were so much cheaper when they had their sale on.

oh and salman, the difference is about 1G CAN between buying here and in the states...

i really think the Euro-R front, with oem sides/rear is worth it... but for now i'm happy with no lip kit... i'm already low as it is, and have trouble with some speed bumps etc... i dont' know if i want to go back to having to pay attention driving everywhere, or having to be that ******* that backs up traffic when turning into a driveway cuz i have to slow down to 10km/h...

i don't have a problem with you, but you're talking about stuff like it's a fact, but you don't know the actual numbers....

you don't have to prove everything you mention on a forum, but if you're going to say something make sure you know what you're saying is right not just hear say...

I know for a fact that the 04-05 kit comes to less then 1000 CAD since many people have purchased it from various dealers. I believe there is a slight variation between colours which is not more then $50, but that I cannot confirm or deny.

Ya i know Acura Woodbine had a clearout. They are the best place to score deals on lip kits when they do have that sale.

just how you talk about the tsx nav being crap and being able to get one that's far superior for a fraction of the price....

you may be able to argue that nav isnt' necessary and a waste of money, but arguing that you can get a nav that's BETTER than the TSX one for a fraction of the price is definitely not even close to being true...

ok, just curious then,

have you ever owned / driven regularly a car with factory nav?

have you ever owned / driven regularly a tsx with nav?

have you ever owned / driven regularly used an external nav unit like the ones you claim are better?

Since you want to beat this to death:

I have driven many cars with factory NAV (g35, tsx, TL)
I have also been in two cars with aftermarket navigation.

Observations:
-the only thing factory nav has over aftermarket is the fact that there is usually a bigger screen
-the aftermarket units offer quite a few more options then the factory nav in most cars

Maybe you are taking such offense to this because you own/want a tsx with the factory nav in it. My opinion shouldn't bother you in any way from enjoying whatever you have opted for. I feel that there are better units out there. The only way id get a tsx with factory nav is if the car is used where options don't really amount to a considerable price difference when compared to a model that doesn't have nav. Brand new it is not worth it because it drives up the price on a car that i feel is overpriced to begin with. Again this is an opinion so I wouldn't want you to get all agitated and ask for proof again.
