Ok my buddy doesnt have an internet connection (hahaha) hm hm...so im posting on his behalf...basically he wants some opinions...even though i constantly telling him do whatever floats your boat and not what other people tell you...but anywyas...he just bought a 99 SIR which is bone stock and has about 2.5k to spend on it...oh and he wants to do a bit of both looks and performance.

I told him in my personal opinion...

1) I/H/E
2) Coilovers
3) CF Hood

Anyways you guys give your input and il pass it on lol...

I'd spend it all on suspension, tires and brakes.
H&R Cup kit and an ITR rear swaybar with a subframe kit.
Ditch the crappy OEM tires and get some grippy summer tires.
Hawk HPS/Axxis pads with Brembo/KVR rotors.

I/H/E will make more noise then real power. Unless they are full coilovers they will ride like crap, carbo fibre anything costs too much and doesn't really do anything.

SiR, in stock form, I don't think will support the added turbo power.

-suspension
-tires
-upgrade engine mount
-upgrade rear sway bar
-upgrade brake pads

That should do the trick, I think. Straight line is no fun, with these features, cornering will be more enjoyable. With the remaining funding, get Motul 300V 5w40 and have fun.

everyone says suspension this susepension that, but other than looks, for the average"modder" whats that gonna do? You gonna go do corners at like 80km/h on yonge st ? NO exactly, so whats the poiint of spending it all on suspension and making "corneringmore enjoyable" ? if you cant use it everyday? Most ppl that get into the "modding" scene arent in it for autocross or car performance , they are only in it to make some noise and get some "waves from other civic drivers" , like gino likes to say, IMO, if htis guy is a real enthusiast and wants to improve his car rather than making it just look nice, go for the suspension and do everyhting properly as Nova said, but not everyone is into bettering the car, most ppl want to go fast get noticed and make noise, all the while attacting cops. So if your friend is just some "average joe guy that gos into performance improvemnets and buys the latest toy featred in PAS", then go the route of I/H/E, some decent springs AND shocks, and if he has some money after , maybe a little NOSSSSSS J/K, rims maybe or save for some interior goodies( i.e seats )

flame on

this is what i would do and what i think every SIR owner should do.

1 u have to realize an SIR is not an ordinary CIVIC so do NOT mod the exterior to a point where it CANNOT be diferanciated (sp?) between a Dx and a SIR.

this is what i would do if you dont have it already

SIR FACTORY REAR LIP (200 for oem or 110 for oe aftermarket)
OEM FOGS (400 OEM NEW or 250 OE Style new)
Full Custom Exhaust piping front to back with a high flow and a muffler (400)
headers (DC 450)
Intake (100 doesnt matter what intake its the same ****)
Omni Power Coils (best bang for buck 1000.00)
camber kit (ingalls 250 for two or 150 for omni power)
short shifter (neuspeed or watever u want 200)
chip the ecu.

THATS ALL YOU NEED
for basic bolt ons and you will look the BEST for factory style mod.
and thats less that 2500.

seriously tho, 1st thing is the best alarm he can afford

then cut his stock springs and black out his headlights, then add some altezzas and replace the wing with an aluminium one, then spray paint the hood and trunk blakc for that c/f look. and get 18 inch rims on it and Z3 fenders

Alarm, good one too and a boomering. It is an SiR after all.

Then black out the headlights, set of Tein full coil overs, ITR rear sway bar and maybe a big brake kit in the front.

Alright, get a rolling shell EJ6, better with front end collision so it will be cheaper, then swap everything from SiR onto it.

Everything is straight bolt on.

You are done.
