I need New front brakes for civic
Where do you guys go for brakes? I need 2 front brakes, I'm hearing a high pitched whistle sound when I drive my car, I assume its the brakes because i just tap the brake and it goes away. Honda dealer ship is charging $525 plus taxes for 2 front brakes including rotor, without rotor its 300...how do u know if the rotor needs to be replaced??

well when you brake hard does the steering wheel vibrate? that is caused from warped rotors. if you dont get that, then all you need is brake pads.
you can change the brake pads yourself in 15minutes per wheel. all you need is a 14mm[i believe] wrench to take out one bolt from the back of the caliper. then the whole thing flips up. brake pads slide out and new ones go in. then grab a C-clamp and push the piston in. once that is done, flip the caliper back down and put that bolt back in.

okay well no I dont have that vibrating problem,..as for all those instructions, I'd rather leave that for some professional but thanks anyway.
And when I get brakes, should I get 1st line or 2nd line....1st is better quality and more expensive

Go to napa, crapytire, partsource... get the high quality rotors, and good quality ceramic pads for less than $200 and do it yourself. There are tones of DIY's for brakes and it can be done with a few simple hand tools. Save yourself some money.
