i don't know of too many "custom" shops that can afford to have someone that doesn't know anything (i.e an apprentice). General repair shops can however, b/c all you will be doing is oil changes and tire rotations....and pushing a broom and doing b1tch work.

Just go from shop to shop with resumees and hope for the best....like c-pos said.....good luck.

I am a apprentice and i don't just do oil changes and tire rotations....and pushing a broom and doing b1tch work. i do what every need's to be done. just like tomorrow i am pulling an engine from a integra, and i work on custome stuff for the race car we spondser, so there is no b!tch work where i am.

apprentice = http://www.kcdealfinder.com/images/m...9_tech_top.jpg

Unless you know someone personally who owns a aftermarket shop...g/l

imported_t_dot_SiR 01-Dec-2006 12:36 PM

apprentice can have skills to do a motor swap, but the mechanic must be the one doing the big things

but again, i wouldn't trust an apprentice touching my car... sorry... maybe my beater...

zeeman 01-Dec-2006 12:52 PM

the big things?....like an engine swap? I don't see whats much bigger than an engine swap.

Yeah.. I guess a routine day for an apprentice is an engine swap and a input shaft bearing replacement.

We'll let the certified guys do the brakes and oil changes.

Try workopolis or a headhunter. Try approaching actual shops that do the work you are interested in.
