I finally bought a civic

I know i may have been getting on some of your nerves with my questions but I would like to thank the few that replied and helped me out.

I took the bait and bought that Honda Civic Coupe LX 2003. Its very plain, no spoiler or kit but i dont care. Finally got this over with, at one time i was very confused about which car to get. 2 or 4, lx or si Altima or El or civic etc But in this month I learned so much about civics researching for hours and in the end it was worth it.

One more question, what do you guys think of buying paint protection, rust protection? They tried to sell that to me, but i said i would let them know monday. They said it would increase the value of my car and use it as a selling feature, i was thinking i would only have the car for a few years anyway and may not need it.

I would recommend the rust protection depending on how much they want for, cuz you can get it from TCC affiliates for 90 bucks. I dont know what paint protection is, waxing?.

Well I bought it at a Mazda Dealer....the Rust Protection is 799 and Paint protection is 599 and package is like 1199.

Paint protection - something that helps paint from fading and from things on the car like bird crap, sap from trees, car washes.

But, I dont think it works, my parents car has paint protection but it has minor scratches from car washes.

Rust protection? I'm not sure if thats good, i think i read hondas rust in one certain area.

see the affiliates section for Krown..
Igor is the only person i'd ever go to..

paint protection??
Meguiar's..NXT tech wax is $15 a bottle and has UV protection
so even if you get their "paint protection" you're gonna wax anyway

Good choice on the car. One of my Civics is a 2003 LX. I do wish I got an Si sometimes just becuase it has a little extra power and the moonroof. The LX is cheaper on gas and insurance too. My car has 55,000k's and has been totally problem free. It has a few squeaks and rattles, but all Civics do. As a performance car its not the greatest and aftermarket parts can be harder to find if you want to mod it, but its a great daily driver.

$1200 for paint protection and rust proofing? Save it and buy some suspension parts.

yeah i know now we both have a civic 03 coupe. I know what you mean, the Si has the moonroof and a vtec, I thought hard about it and its not really worth the extra insurance and price. How often would i use a sunroof/moonroof this is canada I couldnt open it for about 9 months of the year. And what am i gonna do look up while im driving. It is a nice feature to have but at that price for an Si, I may as well buy an accord almost all accords have sunroofs and cheaper to insure.

i hope you got a manual!

I wish i had gotten the manual coupe.. i am kicking myself for having an automatic. I hear i could convert it but that would cost at least a grand.. probably better to pay off the car and get another one.

congrats on your purchase, and forget about the dealership extras.. they charge you premium on them, and you pay even more because it's financed.. anything you can have done afterwards will still add to the resale value like they say, it doesn't have to be from the dealer despite what they'd like people to think.

and check out http://www.bettercarcare.com/ for instructions on how to keep the paint looking great.
