I am a DUMBASS... need help/advice

I was backing up in my driveway today so I could open the garage door, with my drivers door open about halfway. I was not paying very good attention, and backed right into the pole my b-ball net is on. The door was pushed open to about 90 degrees from the side of the car. The pin that stops the door from opening all the way snapped right off, and the window bent so now when the door is closed the frame sticks out about 1/2 inch. The door opens/closes fine, but the frame doesn't line up and its cracked right behind the mirror. Any ideas on a fix. New door, or re-align the hinges so it closes tighter. Any good body shops we are affiliated with. What about Progressive in Mississauga? I talked to my insurance company, and they said it's classified as an accident because I hit something. $500 deductable plus my rates will probably increase.

Door is ok, just the small crack (2nd pic) where the weld separated slightly. Any idea how much to paint a door? $300-500?

WTF are are you doing reversing with your damn door open? I've never got why people do that, use your ******* mirrors.

Anyhow whatever, **** happens. I should think a new door wouldn't be all the pricey, at least I hope for your sake. But you might have a problem finding it in your color.
Try car-part.com. Just buy a bare door and swap everything else over.

On second look after I cooled down today, it's not actually that bad. I fixed the frame by rolling down the window, and just bending the frame back in. There was no damage done to the door except for the "door checker" (the spring loaded latch that pulls the door shut) snapping in half. I ordered a new one from Honda today. The door is a bit loose, but next time I'm at the dealer, I'll just get them to adjust it. The crack is tiny, only a bit bigger then on the passenger side. I think I hurt my pride more then the door.

sorry to hear that man... it would be good if you had a shop just tack weld it and respray the paint... you leave youself open to rust if you leave it as it is.

don't ever involve your insurance unless the damage approaches $3000 or the car is a total loss.
