how screwed is my friend??

my friend was on the 400 doing a good 160 and passed a cop (opp)...but this is what he said to me...

after he passed the older model grand prix, he sped up and follwed traffic slowed everyone down and the "grand prix", got 1 car back from him in left lane and tried gettin directly behind my friend by passing on shoulder, but the car in between bloced the "grand prix", so the grand prix pullled on the right side of my friends acr, he looked over and saw the "OPP" badge on his shoulder...(my assumption he was off duty), he had no lights or anything it was obvisouly his personnal vehicle, but the cop started saying something but my budddy nor his girlfriend hear what he said, but then my friend turned behing the cop to get off highway , it was his exit...and while he was behind the cop he aw him on his phone and looking hard in his rear veiw and side mirrors....my friend got off highway and carried on with his day.....what happened, and waht can happen now...since its been a few days??

I'd leave the car in the garage for a little if you can.

He will get a warning, but they will mostlikey try some scare tactics - just tell him to take it easy for a while, his plate will be flagged im sure...

I once got a warning letter from the OPP, another driver wrote my plate down and complained, must have been the guy that raced me and lost on the hwy LOL

I saw a guy about to get pulled over and he flashed his Metro shield. They turned off the cherries, and drove by.

I also had a friend who drove a brown crown vic. Once he was racing to get to a yellow and he didn't notice a metro cruiser at the intersection. The metro guy light up his cherries, stopped traffic for him and wave as he flew through the intersection...

Now why don't I drove one of those cars....

Not to mention arrested, some winner from michigan tried that on the long week-end on the 427 and he got sent to jail. Impersonating a police officer...

It Just means they will be on the lookout for him if he does anything else, they will nab him. Im sure they will just send him a warning via mail, just ignore it and have fun

i don't think that your buddy will get in any ****
because if they wanted to get him for something major i.e. speeding, dangerous/careless driving, then they would have just shown up at your buddy's house (they've got his plate)
the offence has probably been reported...and if he gets pulled over for speeding, or anything else, they probably won't be as easy to let him off as they normally would be

hey this happened to a buddy of mine as well, if they got his plate, then he may have a call comin to him, even thou he wasnt caught or pulled over he still can be ticketed if the officer feels in a bad mood, or hasn't met his quota for the month...

but i wish him the best of luck..

your buddy (or the registared owner of the vehicle) will get an invite to a court appearance for reckless driving (or something, I forget). I know, cuz the same thing happened to me when I was 17. Dragged on for 2 years in court, and I got it reduced to speeding of 110 in an 80 zone. Ended up costing me over $1500 in court costs, fees, tickets, not to mention my lawyer.

If I were him, I'd file a stolen plates report, saying your plates were stolen and you didn't notice till now cuz you were out of town. Then... just get some new plates, and it'll be hella cheaper than a court apprearance, and once you show that you filed a report... it'll get dropped.
