no wait, BUY IT!

I'll sell them to you for $50 including shipping to your door!

*calculates cost of 3" PVC 4 ft long, = $5, cutting = $0.......$45 profit!*

just make sure you only bid on it, because if you choose the "buy now" option you will screw yourself out of $0.99

LOL 20 dollar sleeves... don t do it

Even if they dont break your ride quality will be horrible.. you wont even be able to go over small bump or even worse train track without your car feeling like its falling apart

buy it

make shore you get good quality shocks with high spring rate and camber kit, i had these kind in my last car for 2 years no problem, but i later installed them on oem shocks and the shocks got fukd fast, they are not made of crap material, they are decent, for street dress up, and racing ONLY if you have extremely good quality shocks.

when i bought them back then they were for $20+$45+$20= $85 to $100, ebay uses a trick, they price products so they seem cheap in price but they cost you the same by the time it arrives at your door step.

ps to all the ballers, the $300 springs and $1000 coil overs cost half what they cost from middle men when you buy direct. you should know that, sr20furom guys bough megan coil overs for $500 each when they bought direct in a group buy, so it is possible to get good sleeves for that cheap.

The problem is the quality of the spring. If you pay for something like Ground Controls you are getting quality springs by Eibach, and a far superior sleeve design.

But lets assume that the sleeve design for the ebay sleeve is good, and lets also assume that the spring is of good quality. Then which shocks would you recommend?

It would be awful hard to pick something without knowing spring rates dont you think? And are they linear springs?

I dont want to pick on you, but there is a reason suspension costs more then $20. If they at least had the decency to post the spring rates in their ad maybe we could figure out what valving could be used with them.

hey man no prob, you were actually very polite in asking, i remember i got one of the mechanic to test the spring rate it turned out that these ebay spring rates are hard mine was about 400 and bit over, so i had to get basically top quality shocks from Tokiko, the reason my shocks on the second car got screwed so fast was because the ebay sleeves are incredibly stiff or high spring rate and they will eat stock shocks.

basically what i did, was buy everything else at a decent brand quality and bought the cheapest sleeves, and the rest of the parts were able to handle the high spring rate but even then most branded full coil over set are not that high they are in the high 300's only.

i also only did this because i was on a budget, i learned from before when i had a $4,000 suspension setup on a EF, honestly barely any difference, the EF was maybe 9/10 in overall handling and the cheaper way i did it later 7/10, not a big difference when we look at the costs.

yea another thing some post them some don't because they are not manufactured to the accuracy of lets say TEin that built its whole life around coilovers and springs, these sleeve are built by contracts from smaller whole sale manufacturers.

ps, even if the sleeve is of a different name, i would always recommend installing a shock that is proven on the track for your car model, this is when you have no idea of the sleeve, and with ebay sleeves definitely have to buy the most aggressive shocks.

Hey Evilkilla excellent find man i give you two thumbs up, if i only had this option 4 years ago. $229 sick price!!!!

Ground control are actually very decent slash good quality coilovers many use em in the states. I actually bookmarked that page incase i decide to mod another car or help a buddy out.

to OP, go to 747 flea market and ask any autoparts seller for ROBERTO's stall. The Roberto guy will hook you up with someone in scarb to do it for $120 to $100. Just tell them you were recommended by someone.

if you still want to do it yourself, do this, first get a hold of spring compressors, from your mechanic, next you will need two jack stands.

first compress the front springs, and loosen the 3 nuts on the front strut tower do the same for the other side, loosen the nuts on your wheels, next, lift up the whip on the front side first, then take off the wheels, now loosen the strut nuts, one each on both sides of the strut tower. by this time you can loosen the lower control arm so you can pull the shock out easily but also because you will have two nuts to loosen on the strut end, these can be a bitch if they have never been touched before, rust and dryness makes them stiff, ideal tool would air powered gun.

When you have done all this SLOWLY release the spring compressor and pull the shock and springs out. do this for all four sides, the only difference in the back is that the strut tower are in the trunk on each side in the corner close to or before the wheel wells.

good luck man some might do this a bit different in terms of steps, but its pretty simple, just always remember safety.

one more advice, ebay sleeves sometimes need adjustment on stock struts to fit snugly, plus you might have to also cut the oem bump stops, i have no idea as i do not know what car you have.

as a rule of thumb for easy options if i were to keep stock shocks id buy good after market lowering springs, if i wanted sleeves i would buy really good shocks and camber kit, if i wanted a coil over kit, i'd buy anything like ground control, advantage of a good coil over kit, like tiens they have camber adjustments too with the whole kit.

its all up to what you are looking for.

in all honesty buy what Evilkilla posted
1. they are well known coil overs
2. very decent for budget.
3. most importantly, they won't put stress on other parts for example like a really high rate ebay sleeve would.

one more thing, you can always get something like megan springs with a 2inch drop, and then get a mechanic to cut of a DEAD COIL, every spring had one dead coil, but then you would need lager bump stops, but the idea again depends on what you want that would give you a 3 inch decent drop.

buying the GC kit is going to cost you $300 max shipping included, plus $100 or $120 for professional install, for about $450 you can get a very decent setup. instead of the time and headache of saving $100 or so with the ebay sleeve, try other options too that i listed theres always different things you can do when on a budget and creative mind.
