kinda reminds me what happened with my car......my dad heard my alarm going off at like 4am last christmas when I was in winnipeg so he runs outside with his old school revolver...lmao. apparantly when they saw him coming with the gun they started panicking and tried to rip my deck out (which was solid so it went no where)...lol...they were 1 thread away from getting my skunk2 shift **** though. lol

Jay...on a scale of one to ten...how much confidence you have on a alarm/starter combo that most of us have. you indicated earlier that the car should be armed even if its on your driveway but if you check some of recent threads....thieves today are jacking up cars with everything armed (compustar, viper etc) and without you knowing shyt.

honest answer please.

You asked for Jay's opinion, but just thought I would put a 1.

It may stop the ****** and grab thieves, but if someone wants the car, they will get it.

put it this way.
if a thief wants your car bad enough its gone regardless simply because there are so many ways to take it ie. tow it etc...
however an alarm will deter the average thief (who is your teenager or young adult who doesnt have enough skills or knowledge about the car to be able to sucessfully steal the car with an alarm). also it deters most common problem which is theives breaking into your car to take the deck and system.

I know of ways to make your car impossible to steal when it comes to bypassing the alarm for the car to start BUT no matter how good your alarm is simply towing your car will make your car disappear.

and another main part of alarms is no matter how good the alarm is its the install that matters.

thats a tough call. the fact they got away with it is only incentive for them to continue. i woulda called the cops and told the kids its better for them..
