Sir's are always risky busniess
even buying a stock one, you never know what had been done to it previously.
If everything seems proper:
car fax comes out clean
nothing resprayed
i'd check tires, tires tell alot about what the cars been through
owner isnt 17 years old
engine is in proper running order
it will be worth anywhere between 10-12 k

Putting things back to stock is a way to get a little bit more money than a package.
If the engine can handle the abuse, then I wouldn't call it "beat on". To me, beat-on is like reving a CRV to 7200 everyday on every stop and go traffic. B16A is meant to rev safely into that zone, hell I would be worried if the seller is a 60 year old dude who never even heard the VTEC all these time.
For a reqular person, who daily drives the car normally and does 6000 rpm once in a while, you ought to do something really stupid to cause damages to the engine. It is a big hunk of metal, not made out of paper.

Plus, buying a modified car is also a smart way of shopping. If you know the person, and the aftermarket parts are good quality and are pretty much the parts you would use to modify the car if you bought it stock, then you are saving lots of money right there.
Should I sell my car, I will sell it the way it is. Cause it is built the way I like it and I am sure there are others out there who like the way I did my car and if they are in the market of car shopping, then there is the perfect car for them. Provided everything is still in working condition, of course.

Most of the car manufacturers recommend higher octane not cuz it really needs it, more to be safe and protect their own asses from engine detonation and having to replace warranty motors. With proper tuning you can run a b16 on 87 octane. Mind you it may be tuned down a bit, but the point is it's doable safely.
I had my timing retarded on my H22 for the winter and drove around on 87 octane perfectly. Car has probably seen like 60K+ since the swap and still running perfectly.

i don't see why people complain about having to use premium (91+) gas. Its only $0.10-0.12 more a litre. And at 40 litres or so its only really $4 more a tank.
Its not like its a big truck or suv that has a 80+ litre tank....still its only $8 more to fill up.
