how much to replace wheel bearing and oil pan?
#2
its easy, if you plan on doing it yourself....the wheel bearing.
shouldnt be any more than 150 at honda per bearing...not sure though, but its well worth a membership discount from Parkway
Item 3 is what you want....call Honda a price'em out
not sure on the oil pan...

after doing o2, cat, tune-ups.... my car passed emission but i'm pretty much dead broke....
i see some oil, so my mech check what was wrong and he told me the oil pan needs replacement and that my wheel bearing is "lose" (what does "lose" suppose to mean? i was too rush to ask him what he meant...)
well he said the situation is not extremely severe (i don't know if it is or its not... but of course i hope to get it replaced asap) however, i don't have the $ yet... what are the side effects if i don't get these 2 things done in the next month or maybe 2 months at most? or should i get it done even by making a loan?
if its dangerous or the oil pan leak will cause other new stuff i just install or any other engine parts to be damaged, of course i want it fixed at all cost...
thanks for any 2 cents

well, it may be the oil pan gasket, not ness. the actual pan. i plan on doing mine tomorrow. the main problem is of course you will leak oil and you will have to fill it up every so often when it gets low.
wheel bearing, couldn't tell ya, but better to fix sooner than later, the wheel bearing should be done before the oil pan and gasket

I've seen two wheels fall off of cars in the last week. That can be wheel bearing or ball joint failure. I think in both these cases it was the ball joint (one older Taurus, and one newer Talon), but it's a serious issue nonetheless, and its nothing to **** around with. You can't put it off...

well it's an EG so it's pretty old I'd rather go to part source and get a wheel bearing for like $60. You can get an oil pan from them for about $80. The problem of doing your oil pan yourself on an old car is, well at least on my car, the downpipe is in the way. And my car being a 4th gen, all those bolts are totally rusted to **** so they would just snap. Not sure if EG downpipes block the oil pan too.

the downpipe does block the oil pan....
i got my wheel bearing done... it was a pain in the *** for my mech because of the RUSTS haha.... it was worth the $$$ i paid him for labour... seeing him working his *** off, it was worth it to pay someone doing it (especially when parts, nutz and boltz are getting rusty)

The downpipe blocks the oilpan but if you have access to air and a good impact gun the job is hella lot easier. I personally never removed the oilpan but had a good look at it when I did the clutch. Doesn't look like too bad a job.
