How hard is it to drive without Power steering ?
#41
i've been driving my 92' cx hatch for 10 years and its never been a problem. The point about it being hard to turn is ONLY if you aren't moving at all. Give a little nudge and the wheel turns really easy - no flat spots on the tires either.
For anyone who is doing a track-setup and wants to save power, getting rid of any accessory is a big deal - a/c, p/s, etc. I don't know who would remove power steering if they had it, but i do know lots of people that don't get it fixed when it fails.
Driving my civic daily, i find i feel more response from the road and car without p/s. i have p/s on my other car - a toyota matrix xrs - so i know the diff...

maybe you should go lift some weights then try it again.

i dont see the point in making a car that you drive everyday harder to drive
can you justify it for me?
you want more horsepower so you can drive faster?
You get to feel the road better?
I'd much rather drive with power steering and not "feel the road" as much...or maybe im jus dumb, cuz "feeling the road" is just so ****ing important while driving
i guess i better face the facts
your just a cool civic driver who driver around with no ps

lol.. ok.. well if i had a car, any car, with power steering and broke or something, and it was cheaper to buy a manual rack id do it. im not saying im cooler then you cuz i dont have it, im just saying its really not a big deal if you dont have it. if i were to buy another 88-91 civic id rather not have p/s. so calm down its just the internet dude.

haha this is rediculas. While we're on the topic, whats better A/C or rolling your windows down. MANUAL WINDOW CRANKS!
JusBlaze- lets not call names. And no PS is nothing to get used to, the only time is hard is when you load the wheel with like 5 cranks then it starts to get hard, but the SECOND you engange the clutch and move the car it lightens up. My Olds has PS, and my Honda does not, and in terms of parking, u turns, 3 points, any tight turning, frankly, I prefer the Honda, because its much easier to manuvre in tight spots. Down the road while mobile, same as a car with power steering... Is that any justification for you?

no powersteering is great, some people say its real steering becuase u dont have any electronic or hydralic assist. if you gatta parallel park...it might be alil tough but yea as some ppl already said you will get use to it in a day or so...1991 civic si hatch no powersteering and im loving it

i dont like parallel parking in the first place so i try to avoid it but its not that hard.. and if you got a small car like an older honda then its not so hard.
