sounds pretty good, any mods to it?, how's the floors? how does the motor look clean dirty?, how does it run, tranny, clutch, etc, how's the interior? how's the exterior, paint, chips, dents, RUST,etc. safety and e-tested? if everything is in good shape it's not a bad deal but if it's rough i would save up a thousand dollars more and get one in good shape. good luck

the best thing you should do is go with someone that knows alot about cars. asking questions can result in a lot of bullshit feedback. alot of people lie to sell there car so i wouldn't trust them. go in person in the day time and take a really good look at it. grab the vin number and get a used car package from the ministry, i believe it's $15. Take a look at the previous owners, etc. if the kilometers are really low like in the 100k's for an 89 i would call the previous owner and ask them what their odometer read when they sold it, if it's higher than what it's at now then they probabley spinned it. my car has 330k so im pretty sure they didin't spin
anyway my best bet is to look around and take a look at these cars in person with someone. When i bought my civic it took me a year of searching to get it. take yout time when buying it and don't rush unless you find a great deal for a good car.
Goodluck
