how do you get the year of car from the VIN

how do you get the year of car from the VIN
someone told me you can know what year the car is from the vin number... is this possible ?? can someone give me an example of how i could find out what year a car is by there vin like an acrua or honda i mean... heard it had something todo with a letter in the vin

in short, 10th position in the VIN indicates a letter. the letter corresponds to a year:
10th POSITION MODEL YEAR
L = 1990
M = 1991
N = 1992
P = 1993
R = 1994
S = 1995
T = 1996
V = 1997
W = 1998

didnt you miss those lol ??
anyway im trying to figure out what "Y" is ?? is it 2000 ?? or did you mess up cause u missed all those letters ??
