maybe you'll get 1 or 2 drops of water AT MOST on the filter (if that). with a short ram you dont have to worry about water AT ALL. in order to hydrolock your engine the whole filter needs to be submerged in water and that just isnt possible with a short ram unless you put your car in the lake

ok you might get some drops of water in there but nearly not enough to harm anything.

Okie!

Do you guys think I should go with genuine AEM or a knockoff like Ractive or Vibrant?

AEM is $370 for short ram.
Knock off is probably under $100.

What do you guys think?

Also.. would you go intake or foglights?

boy i sure am glad i dont have to deal with shitty, argumentative, miserable attitudes like yours anymore - i pity ANY place of business that does

aahhh c'mon spleeny - he starrrted it, hehe - all i was trying to do was offer some friendly inside advice from another poor sob that has to deal with the general public - i certainly wasnt in a position of management where i could make decisions for or against a customer - its kinda like chewing out the minimum wage clerk for a company policy - you are yelling at the wrong person. anyone who does is just picking on someone they know can't talk back or they would lose their job - if thats how one gets their jollies then so be it - anyone who has ever worked in a position that serves the general public will know how frustrating it is to deal with obnoxious customers

hey u dont happen to work at the staples at weston rd and 401 do you?

Maybe he knew a guy named Derek. He used to work there too.

A manager that works there now used to work at my staples.

I believe I read it somewhere on the net, and also noticed it in my warranty paperwork from Acura. I'll try and check my warranty papers when I get home.

actually BMW has an excellent reputation as does honda

funnily enough the biggest and loudest complainers (like you) were the people who could barely afford to buy the cheapest BMW - go figure

some people are just mad at the world

Angry

if u have the front strut bar that is made by (Neuspeed or DC sports) then u are fine cuz there's room for both SRI or CAI and the bar to stay under the hood. if u have other brand then i can tell u the SRI or CAI wont fit (100% sure)

secondly, it is hard to get the SRI to submerge and hydro lock the engine. but for CAI in winter or rainy day, you went through a big puddle then u are in trouble. cuz my friend blew his Si engine 2 weeks ago with CAI. those water mark on your stock air box are normal...every car should have it if u drive your car on the road.

third, i dont think u will feel your civic will be a lot faster with the SRI...u for sure can hear the sound from the intake but in HP gain..i would say 1 or 2 HP.

lastly, God damn it...if you are so worry about warranty then dont bother getting it. i think there's like 5 ppl who posted in this thread saying you are fine with warranty.

I've asked Ken(s) about installing an aftermarket intake system and they both said (one is a mechanic of Honda) there will be no warrenty voided. But again, whatever installed that caused the problem (hydrolock), your screwed.
