Trust me go with the Civic because with that many km's on the 626 you'll be visiting your local Mazda dealership looking for parts. Mazda parts are much more expensive than Honda parts.

Get the VIN# from the Mazda and I can tell you the service history of the car.

I say Civic and not just coz this is a Civic board!!

I just never really liked the styling of any Mazdas until only recently! Those Mazda 6's and 3's

I have a mazda as well. Good car. Mind you it's a 4x4 at least it's made in Hiroshima. 3.0l v6 is in lots of mazda vehicles. You can find tons of 626's in the wreckers (at least the ones I frequent). NAPA and CT have tons of spare parts for those since they share lot with their domestic bretheren. I still prefer my driving my civic around...
