Honda CR-Z Prices?

Hi guys,

Just noticed that Carcost released the prices for the 2011 CR-Z? How accurate is it do you think?

Canadian pricing isnt out yet, AFAIK.

Temple of VTEC 2011 Honda CR-Z starts at $19,200 U.S.

Here's U.S. MSRP.

Wow... gets the same or worse fuel mileage on average than my 10 year old SiR...lol.

I would honestly have a Ford Fiesta over the CR-Z given the price......until the moment a decent K-Swap mounting kit came out for it :)

Fiesta > CR-Zzzzz...lol

I like the look of the new CRZ, but yeah, the price is something else.

I know this is an older thread, but I must say... I was in newmarket honda the other day. They had a CR-Z in the show-room, and I still just can't get over the huge nose just hanging out over the front wheels. The car looks very ill-proportioned to me...

Looks are very subjective. I personally think cars like a STI or EVO are 2 of the most hideous designs ever. I think the CRX looks 100x better in person then in the photos.

When I heard Honda was using a hybrid engine I was sceptical. But I test drove one last week and I really liked it. The hybrid engine is virtually seamless and it really drives like a normal car unless its in economy mode. The torque peak is very low so it pulls quicker then expected. Shifter, clutch, brakes all operate in typical smooth Honda fashion. It wasnt as quick as my Si, but it was definately faster then a normal Civic or a Fit. The interior was very very nice with its LED gauges and kinda had an S200o feel to it with the controls close to the wheels. The car comes absolutely loaded compared to most other Honda products (bluetooth, Hids, auto a/c, great stereo, etc). CDN pricing is just under $24 and considering some of its features, thats a great price.

A car doesnt have to be very powerful to be fun to drive. Look at Miatas and Mini Coopers for example.

The lease is up on my Si in the spring and the CRZ is on my list of potential replacements.

^I agree with you on the 'not judging a book by it's cover'. And I'm sure they are nice to drive. The car looks very akward to me, but that's not to say it drives akwardly...lol.

However, looking at the estimated numbers for fuel economy and that fact that it is a hybrid, I'm unimpressed as to the fact it's marginally better then my 10 year old civic...

The price really isn't all that bad (not as bad as a prius), but still, buying a hybrid in the year 2010, I'd expect fuel mileage in the 50mpg range, not 30.

I wouldn't mind trying the car out for a few weeks or a month and seeing how good it really is, both to drive and for fuel economy.
