Honda Civic 06 Alternatives

If you want something utilitarian, get a Carolla. If you want something that is more stylish, get a Mazda 3. Impreza or Lancer are good opions, too. I think Mitsubishi has a great warranty, don't they?
I would never be caught dead owning a Nissan or a Hyundai.

I agree my sister just bought a Lancer Raliart after driving it I was pretty impressed. Very good low end power. Only thing I had quams with is the understeer taking corners fast. But its a nice looking car and the Raliart edition comes with front/rear sway bars, strutbar, nice stock headers, rear disk. But I'd still rather have the new SIR!

hmmm i remember going through this last december...
looking at alternatives to a Honda Civic
my first choice would be an impreza...than a corolla.
but try to stick with a Honda...civic, accord CSX or RSX
new/used you cant go wrong

If you really can't wait for the car you want, then I'd suggest test driving and researching all of the cars on the list. Eventually you'll find one you like and then you can decide if it's the car for you.
There's no sense in us telling you what cars we like because everyone has different needs and opinions.
If I had to choose though, I'd get either a Corolla XRS or an Impreza 2.5i. Both can be had for around $25g's.
I still like the EP3 Hatch too if you wanted something used.

Nope, I'm still sticking to my Honda Civic EX Coupe 06...still waiting for it to arrive tho. Nothing beats the reliability and performance of a civic in its division.
DumbasSi- what color is your 06 civic? whats your overall review of it thus far?

Mine is Neutron Blue. So far its been a rare colour. I've only seen one other and it was on a lot. I have a 2 page review that I've written based on a review I found on another site. It's very long and detailed, but I'm editing it down when I have time.
So far, its been a great car. Very many positives and only a few minor gripes.
Pros.
It gets lots of looks with the blue colour and the dark tints. I'm shopping for 17s or 18s for the spring. I love the interior and all of the controls and features. The gauges look awesome at night. The car drives, rides and handles much better then my other Civics. Its great on gas and it feels much quicker then the 140hp would suggest.
Cons.
The seats lack lumbar support and I sometimes find it diffacult to get comfortable without adjusting the seat/wheel a few times. My wife drives the car too and she moves everything around. The shifter has short throws compared to my 03 and it feesl a little sloppy sometimes. The rear quarter windows are tiny causing blind spots so having the mirrors adjusted properly is a must.
Thats it for now.

PLZ DONT HATE cuz i work for them.. a pursuit coupe GT
--> 2.4 ecotech vvt 171 hp & 163 ft-tq (not bad)
--> fairly cheap (22,000)
--> cheap on insurance (compared to most on the list)
as much as i want a civic i cant afford insurance compared to the pursuit
