Angry Home Depot online order rant !!!

Today I called Home Depot to order a cleaning/detailing brush kit for $6.98 + $5 shipping.
The product is only available online.
I gave the phone rep my credit card number and he told me that the system couldnt accept it.. I said why not ? He said that the system thinks it may be a fraud.
I said WTF ? That's an insult ! What the hell ? I tried another credit card and it too did not go through.. So I tried a family members credit card, and it did not go through either ! So now they say that I'm gonna have to be put on a 'safe list' and be called back by someone !

Now I am pissed ! I let them really have it ! I did not want to be called back by customer service reps, I wanted to order my product ! Who could do this for me ??? They said there is nothing they could do ! I said this is a bunch of bull, do you not a agree ??
I asked them if the call was recorded, and he said yes.. (oh boy this is gonna be good)...

So now I am giving them 20 minutes of my 2 cents telling them that thier ordering policies are a joke and insulting ! I really let them have it ! I dont care how rich Home Depot is !! This is absolutely silly ! Not only can I not buy this product in the Home Depot stores, now I am having difficulty ordering it through their website !! What kind of operation do these idiots run ??
It's a total and utter joke..

So now I am waiting for their call back (within 4 hours) after being put on a 'safe list'..

This is crazy !

It all depends on which store you worked at too cause I know mine is trying to step up their A game and have come on a long way from since I first started and I find that our phone help people are retarded cause I think they just take anyone and don't train them properly cause they **** me off too when I call for any kind of system's repair/help.

It's true, sometimes the squeaky wheel does get the oil. It's good that you were able to get some satisfaction...unfortunate that you had to jump through so many hoops to get good service, though.

Dude, random credit cards get flagged all the time.... This happend to me with another retail company. All you had to do was hang up and call your CC company, they can easily sort it out for you. They took about 10mins to get me confirmed to make a purchase. You lost your mind for no reason. Loosen your panties, you lost 20mins of your life over nothing

The really strange thing is that this would happen to two of his credit cards and one belonging to a family member all at the same time. Three different credit cards being 'randomly flagged' all at once, and one that isn't even his? Hmmm.

Could happen, I guess, I just haven't heard of that before.
Well, guess the main thing is that it was all sorted out.

cause once you get flagged for a card, basically , the retailer won't try another card. They just tell you they don't work. In stores I use to manage, it's policy to not accept any other cards as soon as the first one comes up as flagged.

Really? That's interesting.
Haven't worked in retail, that wasn't something I was aware happened. Guess it's to protect the consumer, even if it can be an inconvenience at times.
