Hi

Hi all, I couldn't find the welcome forum, so HI ALL

now, on to my question :P (so that this thread wont be in the wrong subforum)

I have a sedan ex 97, I'm trying to figure out what engine i have, a Y7 or a Y8, but I got really confused with the Honda USDM marketing scheme.. which was something like SI (cdn) was EX (us) or something like that,

can someone with knowledge clarify this for me?

much thanks!

Welcome to TCC. to find out what engine you have look on the engine block at the front of the car. The engine code will be beside the exhaust manifold and where the tranny bolts to the block.

thanks again for the information and the welcome.

I have a second question, I'm kinda new to this civic, and I was wondering what you all thought what rice entailed,
like, I was thinking of going for a subtle sleeper look, but without the engine mods until the cash flows in.. (might take a while, heh).
would adding a mugen lip and a type r rear lip (painted darker for an inconspicuous look) & removing decals be considered rice? (i have no intent of ADDINg stickers & other decals)

oh, and i was reading about mini-mes, which manifold would you guys recommend (for a Y7/Y8)?

No adding front and rear lips, and removing the decals are nit rice. The mini me swap you and not just changing the intake manifold, you are changing the whole head of the engine with a D16 vtec head.

A B18b from a ls/gs/rs integra will cost you around $1200-$1500 for the full swap installed with everything.

It's costed me $700 for the full swap, i just needed to buy bigger upper and lower rad hoses, but that's it, but I did the swap my self tho, so that saved a bunch of money.

Looks good, I like the colour. Some clear square honda fog lights would look nice. And welcome to the world of Honda's.

painted mugen lip and DIY metal mesh
I'm glad you don't think its ricey !

I'm planning on clearing the amber from the signal lights for a clearer headlight look, but I'm concerned with:
1. can other ppl see me signal then LOL? i dont wanna crash and die
2. no amber with the dark green body paint... might not look good?

Orange bulbs would be necessary. You could always paint the inner housing black.
