a heat exchanger (intercooler) is a necessary evil. it is NOT a cosmetic enhancement by any means. kinda like windshield wipers.... the equivallent of what you are doing by cutting your bumper would be putting those chrome three-blade wipers on your car.

oh yeah and H-T peeps are on this "function over form" rampage but the truth is a massive intercooler like that is anything but function. unless you need an intercooler that can support 700 whp.

I don't see the need of cutting it.

But if you really want to increase air flow to the surface area, cut 1/4 inch of slits across the top, as many as you can. Not sure how many you can get but if it were up to me, that's my choice.

Thanks guys. Im not into the rice look at all. It dont have to be hardcore jdm but I like it clean so thaths why I wont comment on others cars most of the time. You want a honest opion, You post on honda tech. It is the worlds largest honda board so if your gonna get a real answer its there. They are half and half as well.

it doesnt look like poo (haha) rocks and **** will only damge it anyways so no biggie. Thats life. Support 700whp. Im not that high but over 500whp at least My last interooler worked great and had little lag due to its design but alread with this and a few quick pulls, I can tell it has a little more lag but it DEFINATLY pulls harder up top. I was actually impressed. Time for a retune, oh and more boost always

well what would you think if I decided to ziptie my a/c condenser to my bumper on the exterior of the car??? would that be tight? is that a nice decorative peice? ummm yeah.... prolly not. so what would make you think an intercooler looks nice? why not just get an air to water intercooler?

well sir I dont know what you drive so I cannot comment. I hope your not insulting my car what so ever as its been on 2 covers, and in many mags and is thought to be one of the nicest in north america. SO Im doing something right.

Why would I want the fmic to show more, Cause it will increasde air flow into the engine which makes more power and more power to me is what I like, I know it makes a difference with it cut. I wont do a ****ty job and if I dont like it, well I go buy another one again and try not to **** that one up.

sorta sticks out like a sore thumb, ove seen some nice setups where you don't even notice it there, and that to me is a nice setup..but to each their own right.

not trying to insult your car. it's obviously a high dollar peice. it's nice... wouldn't say it's one of the nicest in north america, maybe north eastern ontario. nicest to one person is not gonna be nicest to everyone. I think everyone thinks their car is the nicest.... that's the thing about building a car, you BUILD what YOU WANT. so when you are done, to you it's the nicest.

note from your original question, you asked what would LOOK best. I understand more airflow would benefit you, but it will look bad. you asked about LOOKS, so I said 'no go'. And yea, no amount of polishing makes an intercooler look good. its still an intercooler, a very utilitarian peice of equipment.

Every Civic is done differently, one way or the other. It is hard to find two identical cars with identical mods. If Kenny thinks his car is one of the nicest on this side of the shore, then he must be damn proud of his toy, and he should be.

Alot of people have nicely done up Civics, I like most of them, and I admit it, I admire some of them, too. The mods I don't or cannot have, the paint, the speed, this and that.

Show off sometimes doesn't mean "show off", it is really to get recognized and accepted by the peers.

Guys, I didnt say that originally about my car being one of the nicest. Im told this all the time from honda tech. I dont care where it would rank. I know what it is.

Now thats out of the way.

My car isnt sponsored as I dont get anything for free. Ive been offered and said no as I dont want huge names on my car (NO FKIN WAY). I get hook ups threw sponsorship, but not free **** :P

As for the bumper. I was actually gonna leave ity even with the grill but there was no way in hell it would fit so I cut out the center part and thaths it. Gotta get it painted and new lip on and it will be ready for scp and importfest.

OH well, I get told im too moddest all the time :S Oh well, take care guys and thanks for your input. Ill put pics up after its all done again.
