help w/ 2000 siR - theft recovery

Best thing to do is check and see if all the VIN match up on all the above parts listed in locosir post.
If the power train VIN doesn't match up with the VIN on the body I MYSELF would just walk away from it.
Plus get a compression/leak down test done.
Team Rukus how is $14G cheap? All the SiR I checked out in the autotrader a few months ago that were around $10k to $13k ALL of them theft recovery (5 or 6 SiR) Some were American Si theft recovery.

i dont understand wat ur trying to say???
i said 14g's is wayyy to expensive.
u can get sirs for waaaay cheaper now and no they arent theft recoveries. also if the guy does have some kind of paper work it is most likely the insurance estimate paper and on it u will see exactly what is missing (or was) so that proves if wat he is saying is legit.
and no insurance doesnt think the sir is the same as an si. they know the trim level.

Team Rukus.
What I was trying to say was
When I was checking out a bunch of 99/00 Civic SiR. Of course I checked out the cheap ones first. Everyone I saw under $13k were theft reovery with engine replaced, etc. I also came across a couple American Si imported to Canada for resale. Of course the dealers were very forth coming with the info re: the car.
I myself wouldn't buy a theft recovery vehicle.. Then again a NON-theft recovery/NON rebuilted SiR around 90k could still sell for cheap.
meSiR. Check the vehicle out 100% before you slap down the cash. This will save a lot of headaches. Spend the $ for carfax, VIP, maybe the $ for a tech to give it a good once/twice over. Honestly I would rather spend the extra hundred $ to make sure everything is Good to Go.

i was quoted two different rates for the same year car and same condition but difference was 1 was a si and the other was sir.
remember this.
the si and sir had TWO different book values and thats how they judge u on how much they are gonna charge our *** on insurance if the lady said si it dont mean **** remember the peopel u talk to arent the underwriters they are just customer service reps they dont know jack ****. as soon as u gave ur vin the underwriters decide on wat the deal is.

You will be unable to scam the insurance company by telling them it's an Si and not an SiR. When you give your VIN to them they will instantly know it's an SIR. And if you do for some reason get away with it, once your car is stolen or smacked your policy will be void and you could possibly get charged for fraud and kiss a claim goodbye.
