Help me

Okay , I lost my keys for right around six months with my keyless door opener, I was only using a spare key since. I recently found the remote and installed a new battery because the old one was dead. My remote however does not work still. The red light flashes so I know the bettery is good. Does anyone know how to reprogram a remote , I know its pretty basic I witnessed the dealer do it in the parking lot of the dealership the day I picked it up. Thanks in advance.
