help!

hey everyone!
i just have acouple questions, that hopefully someone will have some answers to.
i'm really interested in becoming a mechanic and wanted to know what would be the best way to go about this. I looked into centenial college and they have a program there that seems reasonable,But i don't know if this is the right choice in order to persue the career.Alot of people were telling me to just start the apprentiship at any mechanic garage/shop.
does anyone know of any shop/garage that is hiring people as an apprentis.

any answer's will be very helpfull
i appreciate it!!!!!!
thanks
JC

if you got time and money you can take that course at centenial it will teach you lots and will be easier for you to get a job and then eventually get your apperenticeship papers signed but it would be better if you can just get a job and start your apprenticeship. The course you want to take wastes time and money I already took it a mohawk in hamilton would have rather just gone straight to work and laened the same **** from the apprenticship because now i'm taking the same **** over and over agian.

Mohawk is the best place to go for it. I'm there right now for my block 1. You need to be in a shop and signed up as a apprentice before you can even go to college for it.

^ What they said. And you also must have had some experience in the automotive field like working on your own car, and you did automotive when you were in High School.
